Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
Check the square key on your drive shaft. The key must be fallen out on the ground near by, just check.——–
A little black bar fall on the ground . It looks like an allen wrench but in an “I” shape.——-

Also check down on the transmission to find the lever there. Move the small lever back and forth and see if it helps.
If that is not the case. Check all the belts and see if they are all there or are broken or
have come off the pulleys.
Its called a vari-drive transmission. This changes speeds by moving two pulleys closer or farther apart. These tow variable speed pulleys tend to rust and not move correctly.
————If its hydraulic, then you should have a hydraulic release pin on the back end of the mower. You can pull it out to free roll (neutral) the tractor, and you push it in to make it move under it’s own power. That would be the first thing to be checked. You also have a belt that runs from the engine all the way back to the transmission. I have seen these belts jump off and get lodged underneath the pulley that drives the tractor. The easiest way to get at it is to flip up the drivers seat and remove the battery. Looking straight down you should see the pulley and the belt and you will know instantly if it is off the pulley. If its off then route it through the pulley.———-
This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

The reasons why mower is not moving forward or reverse is that the battery is dead, or due to clogged fuel line. Additionally, malfunctioning transmission, or a broken drive belt, also a faulty spark plug, even when friction wheel isn`t in contact with the friction plate, or damaged Tires.
Possible cause 1: In some models, when you tip the mower, fuel can leak into the carbon in the cap, which restricts the venting of the fuel system. This can cause the engine not to start, or only run for a few minutes, then quit. POSSIBLE SOLUTION: Leave the cap to dry out or replace it with a new lawn mower cap.
Failure of any mechanical component, a broken hose, or clogged filter will cause tractor hydrostatic transmission problems. But the most common issue will be the oil itself. In the transmission section of your operator`s manual, you`ll find a section that covers oil viscosity.
A bypass lever is located on the back of the frame, pull out on the lever to move the mower and push it back in before mowing.
Instead of calling a tow truck or roadside assistance, which can take anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour (if not more), you can fix your tire yourself at home and still make it in time for lunch with your friends. Fixing a flat tire at home is simple and only requires about thirty minutes of your time.
You can patch a punctured sidewall on a lawn mower, but you must drive the mower at a slower speed so that you can manage the patch if necessary. In some cases, you can repair a tread puncture that is more than 1 inch long and more than 1 inch deep on the shoulder of the wheel.

I have trouble starting a toro walk behind mower
ANSWER : All, I thought my carb was shot, so I replaced it. Still, start but no run (and had to use starting fluid). THEN!!! I noticed the spring to the “rev limiter” (just below and towards rear of carb) was not “tight”. The stupid bracket that holds the end of that spring had been bent down ~1/16″ and that caused all this heartache. CHECK YOUR REV LIMITER!!!

How do u remove the tire off a rear rotiller – Troy Bilt Mtd Tiller Wheel Tire 480×4008
ANSWER : Remove the pin that secures the wheel to the axle and remove the wheel. Sometimes the wheel will become rusted to the axle and can not be removed. Its best to leave it be. Attempting to beat the wheel off the axle runs the risk of causing internal damage to the transmission. Once the wheel is off, remove the valve and release the air then using your tire tools remove the tire.
