Hi i wonder if you can help my Ryobi hedge trimmer has a problem with the pull cord it works goes in and out but it does not turn the engine over is there maybe a key way or something that maybe broken ??

ANSWER : Hello Nick,

Inside the cord attaches to a plastic wheel which cranks the engine. This cord can become loose or can break after some use. Try opening the plastic casing where the cord is to see if this is the problem.

My trimmer starts but after warming up stops and wont start again
ANSWER : After it stalls take the fuel cap off and put it back on and see if it starts,maybe the cap is bad or clogged and not letting air in to equalize the pressure of the fuel being used

ANSWER : Trun the on/off switch on,prime it with the bulb 3-6 times choke it , pull the cord 1 or2 times then take the choke off and pull a few times till it starts if it doesnt start you have problems.

ANSWER : Sounds like the gas is not getting to the cylinder—remove carb and disassemble–make sure all jets are clear and the float valve moves freely.

ANSWER : Prime bulb(4) times, full chock ,pull cord till first stutter sound(start)
cut chock down and pull cord till start..Do NOT I repeat Do NOT Touch Gas Trigger at all or it will never start.Should start if done like this.
