Toro`s Specific Recommendations
As an alternative, Toro recommends the use of Mobil 424 hydraulic fluid, made by Exxon-Mobil. Toro notes that it will not be responsible for any damage to the mower that results from “improper substitutions.”
For easy starting and maximum engine protection in cold weather use Toro 5W-30 Winter Engine Oil. This 5W-30 grade oil is formulated with Hi- quality base oils. Recommended for use in Toro mowers with 4-Cycle engines.
Genuine Toro transmission oil. Toro HYPR-OIL 500 high-performance hydro oil is specially formulated for use in all Toro landscape contractor equipment, including Toro Z Master commercial mowers, mid-size mowers, and new Toro GrandStand stand-on mowers.
Transmission oil is required for zero-turn mowers with Hydro-Gear hydraulic gearboxes. If you`re going to utilize synthetic motor oil, your options are 15W-50 or 20W-50.

10W30 is a common motor oil grade suitable for many lawn mowers. Your owner`s manual will tell you the exact grade required, but in almost all cases 10W30 is the right stuff for a four-stroke engines. Any brand of oil that`s suitable for cars or trucks will work fine in your mower.
Castrol Garden 4T 30W is a specially developed monograde engine oil for air cooled four stroke engines such as lawnmowers, generators and pumps.
The short answer is yes, you can use 20w50 oil in a lawnmower but results may vary.

Engine runs, blades turn but mower will not move
ANSWER : Look in front of back tired on frame, not deck, there are. 2 rods, 1 on each side, rods look like a L, it’s going through a little eye opening, push it backards, mower should move. If rod is pulled through opening and locked in, mower will not move..its a safety. Feather on mower

Diagnosing possible pto issue – Toro Zero Turn Rider 74366 Lawn Mower Tractor Rider Ztr
ANSWER : Check plug on the pto itself.located under the mower near the rear end. contacts probably have dried dirt and mud. if that don’t work, tap it with a hammer,it may be just stuck.Thats what I did and it been working ever since. Hope this helps someone.Let me know.

Oil Filter Removal
ANSWER : Oil filter removal is counterclockwise when viewing the filter from the top. Filter install is clockwise. If this is a original filter, then it will be very tight. Before installing new filter, ensure that you place a bit of new oil on the seal located on the flat portion of the new filter before reinstalling to ensure it is sealed, and it also only needs to be hand tight.

Battery goes dead over night – Toro 42'' Zero Turn Lawn Mower Trailer Package Deal ()
ANSWER : First thing to do is find out if it’s the battery or the mower. Disconnect the battery and leave it overnight. If it’s dead in the morning, you need a new battery. If not, you either have a charging problem (not likely if the battery isn’t dead after using the mower) or you have a current drain.

I have a toro time cutter that i need to get to the shop, the problem is i need it to go in to neural.
ANSWER : Under the seat towards the rear are two levers with finger loops. move them both to the neutral position shown in diagram provided on mower. This will release the wheels .
