ZR10926 16 Chain Saw

Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
Remove the bar and chain. Lay the chain out on a bench or table to check it for any sideways bending or breakage of any of the links, missing cutting teeth or drive teeth. Make sure it is being properly oiled and sharpened. Check the bar for any damaged area around the chain groove and make sure the tip sprocket (if equipped) turns freely and has no tooth damage. Check the drive sprocket for tooth damage or missing teeth. Check the drive end oil passages that run from the large holes out to the chain groove on both sides for plugging. Tighten the chain to bring it up to the bar, but not so tight that it can’t be moved by hand. Hope this helps!

Ake 40 18s chain keeps coming off when in use
ANSWER : The only time I saw this was when the saw was run with the chain too loose. The chain should be snug al the way around the bar. If it is run loose for too long the chain will develop burs on the driver links. Now the driver link will not fit in the groove on the bar so the chain is tossed off. Replace with a new chain

Chainsaw is new but chain will not move. Is there a safety feature causing this, or what is the problem?
ANSWER : All machines today will have a chainbrake, this is normally a band that comes around the clutch drum to stop the chain in the event of a kick back, to unlock the brake, pull the hand guard fully back to the top handle until you hear the click of the brake loading, there will be an amount of force required to pull the guard back.

Motor runs, but chain does not move – Remington Electric Chain Saw
ANSWER : Check to see if the chain is on the sprocket to do this you will probably have to remove the side cover on the saw if chain is on sprocket and still will not move then you may have a sheared key in the key way if this saw has one, if it does you should be able to see the key way on the end of the shaft coming out of the motor. there should be a nut that holds the sprocket in place if that nut is loose and the shaft is splined instead of having a key way the the sprocket could slip while the motor is turning.

Can’t keep pole saw running. It starts fine but when i go to do something it shuts down
ANSWER : It sounds to me like you have a blockage in the high jet. There are 2 jets in the carb a HI and a LOW. If you can determine which is the high jet turn it in gently while counting how many full turns and any partial turn and write it down. (example 2 and one half turns) Then remove the high jet needle valve. Spray some carb cleaner into the hole you took the needle valve out of using the little tube that comes with the can of carb cleaner. then put the needle valve back in and turn it gently till it stops again. Now turn it back out the same amount that you wrote down. It would not hurt to do the other jet as well…
