If oil leaks from your pressure washer pump, one of the seals, gaskets or pistons may be damaged. Disassemble the pump and replace any worn or damaged parts. If that doesn`t help, the oil leak may be due to a loose fitting in the pump assembly. Give the pump a once over and tighten any loose bolts.
A pump leaking water indicates that there is something wrong such as bad water seals/packings or a broken ceramic plunger, or something minor like a leak o-ring. Any of these problems can be minor at first, but prolonged neglect can lead to bigger problems.
Most pressure washer pumps use a 30w non-detergent oil. This is because most pressure washer pumps use splash lubrication. This is a process that includes rotating “dippers” that throw oil into the pistons and cylinders.
The Honda GCV160`s owner`s manual recommends you use SAE 10W-30 4-stroke automotive detergent oil in your engine.
Common causes of oil leaks include degraded engine gaskets, leaks from the oil pan, or improper or worn out seals. An oil leak also can be caused by a loose or missing oil pan drain plug or deteriorated valve cover gaskets.
One of the most common causes for a washer that leaks from the bottom is a leak in the fill and drain hoses. These hoses can become blocked, kinked, damaged or disconnected, resulting in a leak while your washing machine is in use.
The difference is the additives added to give the oil certain properties. Common additive difference between pump and regular motor oil will be: Magnesium sulfonate is used as a detergent additive for motor oil. Silicone compounds like PDMS are used as an anti-foaming agent for pump oil.
Pressure washer water pumps need relatively low oil recommended by the manufacturer, as specified in the owner`s manual. (Purchase pre-measured bottles of pump oil for water pumps without dipsticks.) Never use special oil additives or detergents, unless specified in the owner`s manual.
The pump oil should be changed after the first 25 hours of operation on a new machine. After the initial oil change, pump oil should be changed every 250 hours or every 3 months.
Use a flashlight to check underneath your car and around your engine – telltale drips might lead you right to the problem. There are several common locations for oil leaks in your car, including: At your oil pan gasket. At your oil filter or drain plug.
If you notice water dripping into your washer even though it`s turned off, you may have an issue with the washer inlet valve. It allows the water to flow into the tub. Check the valve on the back of the machine to find out if it`s leaking.
Washing machines can leak for a variety of reasons, so the best way to determine how to repair your washer is to find the source of the leak. Next, consider which parts may be causing it and consult the machine`s repair manual. Front-loading and top-loading washers can each require different methods of repair.
Blue Fluid Leaking From Your Car:

If you`ve recently refilled your washer fluid tank, or used your wipers a lot (perhaps on a wintery day) then you don`t need to worry either. This is a simple fix and poses no danger while driving so long as you can still see clearly out of your windshield.

Any leaking may be fixed by tightening the connectors while the water and pressure washer are turned off and the pressure has been bled by pulling the trigger. Also check the o-rings; grease or replace if damaged.

The answer is yes. Using medium to heavy-duty commercial pressure washers can remove oil stains and dirt from your asphalt driveways and parking lots.
Overfilling oil may cause smoking, hard starting, spark plug fouling, and oil saturation of the air filter. Do not run the pressure washer before connecting and turning on the water supply failing to do so will result in damage to the pump.
