Dripping oil from the exhaust is an indication of several things that could be going on. Most commonly either the fuel is stale or mixed incorrectly or incorrect oil. Next is maintenance of the unit, air filter restricted, spark arrestor, carburetor adjustment.
If your chainsaw is using too much bar oil, you may need to clean the bar and chain and rid it of built-up dirt and debris. You can do this by spraying a degreaser onto the bar and chain and letting it sit for a few minutes before wiping them clean with a rag.
When the engine cools down completely and exhaust gasses exit the combustion chamber, condensation of water and carbon dioxide can be noticed much more, and in a moment like this, you notice water dripping from your car`s exhaust pipe. This is completely normal and you don`t have to take your car to a professional.
Oil burning happens when older engine parts allow oil to seep into the combustion chamber. A telltale sign is the bluish smoke coming from your exhaust. But even if you don`t see any signs of blue smoke, you can still be burning oil in trace amounts.
The most common cause of motorbikes leaking oil from the exhaust is that there is a greater proportion of this fluid recommended for gasoline blending. This mismatch causes excess oil to be removed from the exhaust.
It could be that the oil level in the engine is too high, blocking the free flow of oil into the oil pan. Clogged oil drain line that may be kinked or contaminated by old burnt oil, reducing the oil flow through it. Also a mismatched gasket is often the reason for oil leakage from the turbocharger.
If you just purchased a new Stihl chainsaw, it`s a good idea to break it in before using it for any cutting projects. Immediately using it to cut anything, particularly very heavy or dense wood, can ruin the chain.
there are many downsides to an engine that burns oil. letting the oil level get too low can lead directly to engine failure. too much oil in the exhaust can destroy your catalytic converter, an expensive item to replace if it`s not under warranty. you can lose power and fuel economy.
As for the black liquid residue, normally exhaust will release a small amount of water due to condensation inside the engine. When this water mixes with the carbon deposits that naturally build up on your exhaust over time, it can appear to be a black liquid residue.
