STIHL 63PM3-56 16-inch Chain Saw Chain – Fits Homelite, Poulan, Echo, Remington and Craftsman.
Remove the spark plug and inspect if it is dirty, cracked, eroded, or damaged. There may also be a heavy carbon buildup or a burned-up electrode. If the spark plug has one or more of these issues, replace it with a new one.
There may be old or bad fuel in the carburetor float bowl. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and make the engine hard to start. If the carburetor is clogged, try cleaning it with carburetor cleaner.
A: The spark plug gap on all products is . 025-inch.
The Poulan brand name is used primarily for outdoor power equipment, such as chainsaws, lawn mowers, and leaf blowers, aimed at the mid-level consumer market. Since Poulan is owned by Husqvarna, the two brands often share technologies.
Where are Poulan Chainsaws Made? Poulan chainsaws might come from many countries, though the labels say “Made in Sweden” or “Made in the USA.” Husqvarna has facilities in Sweden, Germany, Brazil, France, China, and the USA.
A weak spark on a Husqvarna chainsaw can be caused by one of these misfiring components in the ignition system. Properly maintaining and cleaning the saw on a regular basis will prevent most spark issues. Most problems can be isolated easily and fixed with a few simple tools and parts.
You can find Poulan Pro products both in-store and online at home improvement retailers, hardware stores, and mass merchants all over North America. We are here to help you tackle… ANY YARD.
The carburetor might be clogged. A clogged carburetor is often caused by leaving fuel in the chainsaw for a long period of time. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel will evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and prevent the engine from starting.
Mixing brands of chains is no problem, provided you use compatible chains. I`m no longer able to buy “original” chains for my old Homelite so I buy it off the roll at the local mower/chainsaw dealer, who also joins it up for me.
Several manufacturers produce chainsaw chains, and the different brands are not interchangeable with all models. If you replace your chain with another brand, you must know the exact gauge, length, and pitch of the old chain. Installing the wrong chain can result in bodily injury or damage to the machine.

Put a little mix directly into the carburetor and try to start it. If it pops and doesn’t continue to run look at your fuel lines. I think you have a cracked hose. HTH
