Pump and Housing Imbalance

Some of the most common reasons are that: You might have a bad capacitor. Debris might be blocking the impeller and consequently disabling the pool pump. There might be problems with the motor shaft.

If you notice the pump seems to be shaking, making popping sounds, hissing or rattling rhythmically, you may be dealing with pump cavitation. Cavitation happens when the pump is being starved for water. When starved for water, the impeller creates a low-pressure zone and cavities, or bubbles, develop.

I can’t get the lock ring off to get the cartridge out to clean! It spins about half a turn then stops, HELP!
ANSWER : There should be two buttons (for lack of a better word) on the underside of the ring you push up on to unlock as you turn. Once it is off turn the pump on for a second or two to pop the lid off. When putting back together close air bleed and fill bottom of filter with water then put the top on and as the water tries to drain back to the pool the suction will help pull the top down into place.

Noise MY HAYWARD XSTREAM POOL FILTER IS NEW AND IT WAS WORKING VERY GOOD FOR AWHILE. I CLEANED EVERYTHING PUT IT ALL BACK TOGETHER AND NOW IT’S MAKING A VERY LOUD HOWLING VIBRATION NOISE. I PLACED MY HAND OVER TRHE OUTPUT INTO THE POOL AND THE NOISE STOPS BUT AS SOON AS I TAKE MY HAND AWAY IT STARTS AGAIN.

How do I unlock my Hayward Xstream filter. I can not get the filter top off
ANSWER : Same problem, brand new filter… I’m 190 lb guy who works out 6 days a week, I can’t open this filter for the life of me. If I knew it would be so hard to open I’d have opted for a less expensive sand filter. Cartridge are supposed to keep the water clearer but if you can’t open the filter to clean it without spraining a wrist or having a heart attack (or both) what good is it? Beyond mad, I’m thinking of just biting the bullet next spring and buying a filter that actually opens. Even the brand new Hayward chlorinator didn’t work properly this past summer, i,thought they were supposed to be good products, dealing with their customer service is pointless.

Replaced the top gasket of the filter, turned the filter on and the water was coming out of both the pool and the backwash at the same time and the motor began to smoke. Any clue what is wrong?

I have a Poulan push mower that after mowing in a ditch started making a loud noise and running rough. It almost sounded as if metal was hitting metal. The mower was vibrating more than normal. I checked under the mower and nothing is hitting. After a few times of stopping the mower engine because it sound as if it is going to die down the mower will not start now. The shaft does not appear bent and the blade appears ok. The mower has oil, a good spark plug and a clean air filter. It was running fine until that moment. I did not see anything that I hit but it is possible I hit something in the ditch like a pine cone or branch. What could the problem be and how would I go about fixing it?
ANSWER : If you are sure the oil level is correct then it sounds like it’s about to die, unfortunately. A pine cone shouldn’t cause any damage, but a large branch may do so. Was it smoking before you shut it down? The vibration could be caused from a bent blade. It could also be caused from a part breaking in the motor. I wish I could have given you better news!

Intex sand filter is noisy – INTEX Sand Filter Pump
ANSWER : These pumps on these things do make a lot noise (so much i found it’s scare’s deer from my yard thats eating my apple trees)air trapped inside sand filter makes noise as well this will work it’s way out after time
