The number one cause of low or no pressure when using a pressure washer is a blocked or worn nozzle. Blocked nozzles will prevent water from escaping, while a worn nozzle will allow too much water to pass through, causing the pressure to drop.
There are a variety of reasons as to why your pressure washer may not start. Some of these include, a dirty air filter, lack of or old fuel, problems with the spark plug wire`s connection or a bad spark plug, water in the fuel or an excessively rich fuel mixture, or the choke is in the ON position.
Connect and Turn On the Pressure Washer

Connect the high-pressure hose to the pressure washer, then turn on the pressure washer and set it to the lowest power setting. Make sure that the nozzle is pointed away from you in the direction of the target surface. Grip the wand and pull the trigger to start spraying.

Pressure washers operate under pressure, and that pressure needs to be released by pulling the trigger. If you let the machine run for two minutes or longer without spraying water, then you could damage the pump.
If the pump is leaking, the cause may be minor and easy to repair. Check the seals, packings, and O-rings for wear. These can easily be replaced, saving you the cost of a new pump. However, major leaks such as the ones caused by cracked or damaged plungers, can lead to pump failures.
How Do I Tell If My Unloader Valve is Bad? In most occurrences, the first symptom of an unloader valve going bad is no pressure from the wand when the trigger is pressed. This happens when the unloader valve gets stuck open and does not allow water to enter the hose and trigger.
Once your pressure washer and water source are turned OFF and you are unable to disconnect your hoses from the pump and gun it is generally due to the pressure that is still inside of the machine. To relieve this pressure simply squeeze the trigger to release any water and then try disconnecting hoses again.

There could be small leaks, holes, or tears in your garden hose or high-pressure hose that are causing your pressure washer to lose pressure when you pull the trigger. If you find leaks, plug the holes or replace the hose, which should solve your pressure issues.
