No spark at plug. so iam guessing coil is shot. but how do you remove it? . my other saw wich is a mac cat you remove the pull stater and there it is. this saw that iam trying to fix is a mac 110 wich side cover did they hide the little bugger under. and what is the easiest way to remove it. not sure if the 110 has points or a cdi box maybe that”s the problem not sure as of yet . i want to pull the coil and have it tested. and yes i checked for spark with a spark tester so that rules out a bad plug. got to be coil or points or condenser if they use these or a bad cdi box . never worked on a l

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
A spark plug might be defective and needs to be replaced.
If your chainsaw has a defective spark plug, it cannot create an electrical current to ignite the system. Remove the spark plug and inspect if it is dirty, cracked, eroded, or damaged. There may also be a heavy carbon buildup or a burned-up electrode.
If no spark appears, check for broken wires, shorts, grounds or a defective stop switch. Once you have confirmed that the stop switch is working, reconnect the spark plug lead.
If you have an electric chainsaw that won`t start, first make sure that the power cable is connected to the mains, then check whether the cable and plug are damaged. If they aren`t, the problem could lie in the motor which, for example, may have worn or damaged brushes.
Loss of spark is caused by anything that prevents coil voltage from jumping the electrode gap at the end of the spark plug. This includes worn, fouled or damaged spark plugs, bad plug wires or a cracked distributor cap.
Turn on the ignition switch and pull the starting cord quickly. You should see a spark in the plug gap. Since the spark may be faint, it may help to do the test in a dark area. If there is no spark, check for a broken or shorted (bare) lead wire or bad switch.
A weak spark on a Husqvarna chainsaw can be caused by one of these misfiring components in the ignition system. Properly maintaining and cleaning the saw on a regular basis will prevent most spark issues. Most problems can be isolated easily and fixed with a few simple tools and parts.
