Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
1) How have you determined that there is no spark? 2) Have you used a type of spark tester? 3) What is the condition of the plug. Brown or dark brown is OK. Black or silver is NOT Ok.
*If you do not have a spark tester, a) remove the plug, and with it connected to the wire, b) find a portion of metal around the cylinder that you can ground it on, and then pull the rope. c) If the plug is black, you may see spark, but you should replace the plug. *** PLEASE NOTE ; if there is excess fuel in the cylinder or on spark plug, it can catch fire, so be carefull to cover the hole with a heavy rag so that any fuel cannot be exposed to spark plug durning test !!!!

Pressure Washer Won`t Start: Fouled or Defective Spark Plug

The spark plug ignites the air/fuel mixture. A dirty, cracked or defective spark plug will keep your pressure washer from firing up. Replace the spark plug, don`t clean it. Replacing the spark plug should be part of your annual maintenance routine.

Check to see if the switch and terminals are free from rust and replace any damaged or broken spark plugs wires as necessary. Alternatively, it could be a bad ignition module. A simple way of testing the ignition module is to leave the car idling for 30 minutes and then tap the ignition module with a screwdriver.
If no spark appears, check for broken wires, shorts, grounds or a defective stop switch. Once you have confirmed that the stop switch is working, reconnect the spark plug lead.
The main problems that could impact a proper ignition are incorrect gapping of electrodes, and cracked electrodes. If these parts are working properly and you still do not have a spark, it could be the result of a bad E-M-F ignition coil.
Use a spark plug tester to confirm that the spark plug is working properly. You can also test the spark plug by removing it and holding it against the engine. If you see a spark, then the spark plug is working properly. If there is no spark, then the spark plug is likely defective and will need to be replaced.
If you do not see a spark, there is an ignition problem. Remove a plug wire and insert an old spark plug or a spark plug tester into the end of the wire (the plug boot). Place the spark plug on a metal surface on the engine, or ground the spark plug tester to the engine. Then crank the engine to check for a spark.
The least likely cause of a weak spark is a battery voltage of 12.2 Volts. Even though the battery voltage is less than normal, it should be enough to allow the ignition coil (s) to become fully saturated and provide the correct spark to the spark plugs.
Failing spark plugs can cause the car engine to misfire and thus affect its performance. A single spark plug that fails to ignite the fuel-air mixture can cause a halt in the running of the engine. It can result in incomplete combustion and damage to the catalytic converter of the car.
Many factors can cause a spark plug to fail; from incorrect heat ranges to improper gapping, to chemical contamination. Yet 90% of spark plug damage claims are due to improper torque. My Honda 2600 psi power washer will not pull to start. It was running great then I allowed the neighbor to borrow it. He ran the washer till it was out of gas and proceeded to refuel and at this point it would no longer start. The pull cord is out about 4-6 inches out and I am concerned about taking the casing off myself.

Fearing that it may throw more off on the unit. If i take the casing off are there any spring loaded parts that will dismount?

What should I do? Spark Plug? Turn wrenches?

Please let me know

ANSWER : You should be fine to take the recoil off, there shouldn’t be anything that shoots out at you. You might want to check the oil level on the engine, many of the Honda engines won’t start unless there is enough oil in them. If your oil level is fine, check to make sure that your motor is getting spark.

Honda GX270 I have no spark. Where to start. Can oil alert be by passed?
ANSWER : Oil alert or the module where the oil alert wire plugs in to could be faulty. You can remove all the wires at the coil for test including the kill switch wire (always use a new spark plug for test, then place the new plug in stroage for later use). I test the coil off the engine on a growler. If the oil alert components are faulty, do not repair. Just check the oil more often. Good luck

Honda powwer boss 3000-whenyoupull the handale to spray it kills the engine
ANSWER : Sounds like the unloader (regulator). Try removing the nozzle, the pull the trigger with the engine running. If motor is still running then it could be the Unloader malfunctioning. If you require a new one try a bypass system for the unloader. The bypass will help save the life of the unloader.
