The SyncReverser transmission is designed to match the excellent power and torque characteristics of the John Deere PowerTechâ„¢ engines. Transmission durability is enhanced with the pressure-lubricated top shaft, allowing an operator to achieve performance from one working season to the next.
Available in 15W-40, 10W-30, 5W-40, and full synthetic 0W-40. Increased drain intervals when used with John Deere fluids.
Oil catch pan or other container to drain old oil into (bucket, large coffee can, etc.); typical John Deere mowers hold two quarts of oil.
Many models of John Deere riding mowers, lawn tractors and garden tractors are equipped with a power takeoff (PTO) function that the operator uses to engage the mower blades of the machine.
John Deere Power Systems manufactures and markets industrial, marine and generator drive diesel engines, as well as drivetrain components for use in a variety of off-highway applications.
Power take-off (PTO) is a device that transfers an engine`s mechanical power to another piece of equipment. A PTO allows the hosting energy source to transmit power to additional equipment that does not have its own engine or motor. For example, a PTO can help run a jackhammer using a tractor`s engine.

HAVE A JOHN DEERE 318 LAWN TRACTOR, CHANGED POINTS AND CONDENSER, WON’T TURN OVER, TRIED STARTING FLUID IN CARB AND NOTHING. CAN IT BE THE COIL AND HOW DO I CHECK? THANKS
ANSWER : Check the coil impedance on the primary and secondary side. You’ll have to disconnect the battery negative cable so you don’t short something out. Unplug the spark plug wires and the two sets of smaller wires connected to the primary side of the coil. The primary coil reading should be between 3.7 ohms and 4.6 ohms while the secondary (spark plug side) should be between 34.2 k-ohms and 41.6 k-ohms. If the resistance values you measure are outside of these ranges, you need to replace the coil.
