The spark arrestor is a small screen that prevents the engine from emitting sparks. Over time, the spark arrestor can become clogged with soot. If the spark arrestor is clogged, the engine may stall. To unclog the spark arrestor, remove it and clean it with a wire brush.

Why will My weed eater only run with the choke fully on and cant give throttle?
ANSWER : It sounds like the carb needs adjusted. Things can even happen to new weed eaters.

Wont stay running – Mtd 22" Yard Machine Push Mower
ANSWER : Under neath the carby is a single brass bolt, undo it

that one bolt is a multi jet, find four holes use a fine pin and carby cleaner ,hint one is at the top were the thread starts , one is in the inside center and two in the sides
put it back in and prim and start, hope it helps

My Poulon Pro 17 will not start; it has new fuel lines, new spark plug, new filter, and clean fuel. What have I overlooked?
ANSWER : Got spark? Take the plug out but leave it connected to the plug wire, touch some part of the threads to the metal near the hole in the engine for the plug, turn it over a few times either with the pull cord or with a starter, and see if you get spark, if not, could be ign. coil module, bad plug wire, or bad wiring to the ign. coil module.

Poulan pro 42 cc, no spark – Poulan Pro 42CC 2 Cycle Chainsaw, 18"
ANSWER : Try diss connecting the earth cut out wire from the ignition unit and try for a spark again, this will rule out the switch and any trapped wires, re set the air gap between the unit and the flywheel to 0.3mm, if there is still no spark the unit is bad and will require replacment, they are normally only held on with a couple of allen screws, and either bolted to the cylinder or the crankcase.

It will start but won’t stay running It dies right after it uses up what I pumped in
ANSWER : Carb needs to be cleaned. This new gas we are now forced to use, causes alot of problems.
