Rotate the dial to START TIME • Press L/R to choose Left or Right valve • Press the + or – button to set the start time (hold button for quick advance). Rotate the dial to RUN • Timer waters according to programmed time, duration, and frequency. The start times and cycle duration are maintained during oFF or RUN mode.
Reset by removing battery holder, wait for 30 seconds and reinsert. Set TIME to current time.
If your sprinklers are not activating correctly, your wiring between the timer and valves may be broken or disconnected. Remove the protective cover from your timer and valve box to visually inspect the wiring connections. Each valve usually has two wires: one ground connection and one powered line.
Mechanical timer switches work by using internal moving components, like gears or springs and levers, that act as timers for the switch mechanism. When these components are initiated, the switch will turn on at predetermined times – either preset or manually adjustable.
A water flow timer using a ball valve contains an electric motor with gears to stop or start the water flow by turning a perforated ball within the water flow line. The gearbox in a ball valve timer makes a rumbling sound when actuated.
Check the connection to the docking port to ensure the timer is plugged in properly. Try removing the timer and reinserting it into the docking port, pushing down until you hear a click. If you are still not getting power, the timer may be defective.
How Long Should I Water at a Time? A watering session should be long enough to soak the area sufficiently so all the roots receive a beneficial drink. Sprinklers should be set to run for about 30 to 35 minutes at a time twice a week.
If the valve works when turned on manually, the problem is most likely with the wiring from the controller to the valve, the wiring at the valve, or the solenoid. Check for any loose or damaged wires and reconnect, repair, or replace them.
When the sprinkler zones do not turn on at all, it is generally a problem with the electrical signals running from the controller to the valve solenoids. More rarely, it is caused by a faulty valve that needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
Manual timers are typically set by turning a dial to the time interval desired, turning the dial stores energy in a mainspring to run the mechanism. They function similarly to a mechanical alarm clock, the energy in the mainspring causes a balance wheel to rotate back and forth.
Mechanical time switches can be controlled through on and off buttons and are limited to Either 24 hours a day or seven days a week. At the same time, digital time switches are controlled automatically and can be set through specific date and time.
A: As with any mechanical timer, the real time (clock) has to be reset after a power outage.
The Pope 2 Hour Tap Timer takes the worry out of watering. Simply turn the dial to your selected watering time, up to two hours, then the time will shut off automatically – set and forget watering.
