Fuel tank. The capacity is 2.4 U.S. gal. (9.1 L).
The identification symbol >PE-HD EVOH PE-LLD< means that this tank is made of high density polyethylene, ethylene vinyl alcohol, and linear low density polyethylene.
Ultimately, you may well need to replace it. Changing a fuel tank is a pleasingly simple job in that there are usually no specialist tools needed. However, make no mistake, this is a big, BIG job. There will be a lot to remove, a lot to work around a lot of things to be careful of.
How long can gas sit in a lawn mower? Depending on the gasoline formula it can degrade in as little of 30 days. Properly treated gasoline can stay good for up to a year. To prevent this from happening, you have two choices: empty the gas tank or add a fuel stabilizer.
Tractor`s engine power is 80 h.p. (4 cylinders, working volume 4.75 L). Fuel consumption quota is 5,5 l/h. Modern tractor John Deere 8310R has been producing since 2011.
7.6-L (2-U.S. gal.) capacity.
The three major uses for the tractor tanks were as a combat unit, an armored prime mover and as a training tool for tank operators. The first tank, the A-1, was built by John Deere and since reconstructed by Anderson. Anderson said it was made from a 1940 Model A John Deere tractor with 5,000 pounds of steel armor.
Because plastic is an insulator, the transfer of heat to the fuel is delayed. Most plastic fuel tanks are seamless, so are less prone to failure, even if it deforms, plastic has an ability to regain its natural shape.
For most vehicles, draining the fuel tank is a pretty straightforward procedure that can be done with a minimal amount of tools or special knowledge. As always, take precaution when working with fuel, as it is highly flammable, and remember to properly dispose of or store any of the fuel that you drain.
Fuel can, and will, go bad when it is just sitting in a tank. If you`re thinking of dusting off the old car in the garage for a spin, make sure you drain and replace the gas to ensure that everything runs smoothly. This is equally important if you`re trying to fix a car up or work on it`s engine.
The average cost for a Fuel Tank Replacement is between $1,289 and $1,431. Labor costs are estimated between $259 and $326 while parts are priced between $1,030 and $1,105.
Average Life Expectancy of Aboveground Fuel Storage Tanks

On average, the life expectancy of aboveground fuel storage tanks and other aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) is about 20 years. This can vary based on the fabrication and materials, application, features, location, size, and maintenance of the storage tank.

Using epoxy glue is the easiest way to seal a plastic fuel tank, but it sometimes fails after a short time. If using a plastic welder for the first time, practice before attempting to seal the plastic gas tank. The rental store should be able to work with you to ensure that you have no problems.
J-B WELD PLASTICWELD: A quick setting and multipurpose two part epoxy that provides a strong and lasting bond on various plastic surfaces (Plastic & PVC, Fiberglass, Glass, ABS, Composites and Vinyl).
Gasoline has a shelf life of just 3 to 6 months. Over time, bad gas can gum up your mower`s engine. Siphon out the old fuel from the tank to get rid of bad gas.
For a Gas-Powered Mower: Remove or Stabilize the Fuel

Simply leaving fuel in the tank all winter can wreak havoc on your mower`s engine. Water from condensation can combine with ethanol in the gas, causing clogs, corrosion, and other problems throughout the fuel system.

The John Deere 9400, introduced in 2014 by the company responsible for the iconic green and yellow logo, is considered one of the most efficient tractors in the United States.
Based on that usage, a lower-quality line of residential mowers is expected to last 450-500 hours, while a John Deere residential lawn mower will last around 1,000-1,500 hours.

Calculating Fuel Tank Capacity

If you`re curious about your fuel tank capacity, here is a simple formula to determine the size of your gas tank in gallons. Simply multiply the length, width, and height (L x W x H) of the gas tank, then divide the total by 231.

3 / 95.7 cu in. 3.4 x 3.54 in. 7.5 gal.

ANSWER : I would take the carburetor apart and soak it in a solvent. It is very common for the fuel passages to become blocked by gasoline which has turned to a shellac type substance over a long winter of sitting idle. If it was running fine earlier this year then that is not the problem, but it sounds like a fuel supply and you have excluded the other possibilities so I would give that a shot anyway.
