If you don’t run it any longer you make be able to replace the connecting rods and clean the aluminum from the rods off crankshaft with a very fine emery cloth. A clyliner hone and a new set of rings would also be needed.providing the cylinders arent scored. A gasket set and parts would probably set you back about 100 to 150.

We wouldn`t recommend going below 25 engine hp, but aside from that, you need to assess your land and your needs. If you need to do basic mowing on flat terrain, find a compact tractor with 25 to 30 hp. If you need something more substantial for plowing, invest in the 45 to 85 hp range.
For most small engines 32.5 CC is equal to 1 horsepower. CCs are a unit based on engine volume while horsepower is a measure of the pulling power generated by the engine.

The motor got hot & smoked so I assume I need a new motor. To open the case one needs a really long shafted Phillips screwdriver. Any ideas of where to get a motor an the long shafted screwdriver?

ANSWER : As for the motor two of the best suppliers that I have found are washer specialties or grainger industrial supply. They both have distributors nationwide so you should have no trouble finding one nearby.The screwdriver you can get at auto zone or napa. Hope this helps you. Thanks. I have a mt2000-h magnum pump, but did not get the controlls with the pump. Im trying to figure out how to get the two speeds out of the motor when i only have one set of motor leads for the 220v hook up. motor data tag says 1750-3425 for motor rpm. how does this motor produce two differant rpm’s without two differant sets of windings?
ANSWER : You have two windings if it is two speed. What you need is a switch
before your wires come into the motor you need to take one of the leads and run it through a high low switch. This will simply take one of your 110v lines and make it go to high and low speed on the motor.
Green will go to ground, one 110v line will go to common and the other goes to the switch. It comes out as two leads. One will hook up to the low speed terminal and the other will hook to the high speed terminal in the back of the motor.

My pole saw has lost power..I look at the motor and it is sparking like mad
ANSWER : Either the brushes are bad, OR worse iis that one of the armature windings has shorted or is open. Brishes are easy fix, shorted armature is more expensive.

ANSWER : Hi there Reyles,On this model, if yo rev the engine and the head just sits there, it can be one of two things.
Clutch not engaging (unlikely)
Broken flex shaft (likely)You need to partially disassemble the unit to find out. I believe you will need a T25 or T27 torx head. Remove the screws from the clutch housing that connects the engine to the shaft.Pull it apart. Spin the shaft manually. If nothing its the shaft. Otherwise its the clutch.Best regardsMike
