My old Homelight XL12 used 30:1 , but most modern two stroke engines use 40:1. Probably run in either but need some carb adjustment. Start with choke full on and throttle wide open.

Mixing 2-stroke
For example, if you need to mix 5 litres of 2-stroke fuel at a 50:1 ratio, you will need 5 litres of petrol and 100ml of oil.
The fuel to oil ratio varies depending on the engine, but it`s typically around 50:1. This means that for every 50 parts of fuel, you`ll need 1 part of oil.
Use a 40:1 two-cycle oil mix ratio. One gallon of gasoline combined with 3.2 oz of two-cycle engine oil. Unsure of the age of your equipment? Use the 40:1 mixture.
Mix at 50:1 (20mls oil per 1 litre fuel) when you`re using STIHL 2-Stroke oil.
Mixing ratios
For a mixing ratio of 1 : 50 you need 5 litres of petrol and 0.10 litres (100cm³) of STIHL two-stroke oil.
For a 50:1 ratio of gas to oil, use 2.6 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gas. For a 40:1 mixture, use 3.2 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gas. For a 32:1 mixture, use 4 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gas.
Different equipment manufacturers recommend different oil mix ratios, complicating matters. Most modern chainsaws, string trimmers, leaf blowers and other small-engine two-stroke equipment recommend a 50:1 oil mix ratio, but some recommend 40:1 and older two-stroke equipment might even call for 32:1.
50 to1 means 50 parts of gas to 1 part of oil. So the 40 to 1 mixture is more oily and provides better lubrication for your piston rings. The downside is it will foul out your spark plug sooner, but that`s no big deal because it`s simple to pull the plug out and clean it and stick it back in.
What happens if the mixing ratios in a 2 stroke engine are incorrect? If you put too much oil, it can generate additional carbon build-up, making it difficult to start the engine, blow excessive smoke which is particularly bad for the environment and may (with time) cause the engine to stop operating correctly.
1:25 = 1 part oil + 25 parts petrol, or 40 ml oil per litre of petrol when using other brands of oil. Any two-stroke engine oil you use in your petrol gardening tool must have the TC classification.
If your manufacturer recommends a 50:1 fuel/oil mix, it means you need 50 parts of gas to one part two-stroke oil. To mix one gallon of fuel at 50:1, add 2.6 ounces of two-stroke oil to one gallon of gas, as shown in the chart below.
For example to mix 50:1 you use 50 parts fuel to 1 part oil, which equals one litre of fuel to 20 millilitres of oil or 1 gallon of fuel to 2.56 fluid ounces of oil. For detailed instructions on what you need and how to mix a batch are here.

What is fuel mixture for solo motosage 60135
ANSWER : Some say 100:1 with synthetics. I use synthetics on 80cc and larger saws in the range of 40/50:1. I never go higher than that….saws are just too expensive to be stepping over dollars to pick up pennies. A lot of people are trying to make mixing ratios like some kind of mystery voodoo.
