The Ford 4000 tractor was built from 1962 to 1975 at the company`s factory in Highland Park, Michigan in the USA.
To determine this, look at the tractor production code, also known as the unit date code. The first digit of the tractor production code gives the production year.
Ford came out with independent live PTO in 1959 in the Select-O-Speed equipped tractors.

We have a ’69 ford 2000 3 cylinder gas tractor that will start and run great but starts to spit an stutter after 10 to 15 minutes and shuts off. We have replaced fuel pump, blown out fuel lines, and replaced condenser, coil, and points. Any ideas?? We have not rebuilt the carb yet.
ANSWER : It sounds like something is in the gas tank cutting the fuel supply
look in the gas tank with a flash light. One sure way to eliminate
the gas tank, is hook a old lawnmower tank to the carb. and see if the problem stops. Be careful to secure the tank well. Also check your ignition switch for any sign of corrosion or frayed wires.
