My toro recyclers self propel drive wont engage. belt and pully run and turn but wheels wont.is it the gearbox itself??
ANSWER : Most likley it is the gear box has failed but first take one of the wheels of to make sure that the plastic teeth on the weels didnt go bad (unlikley but wishfull thinking)

The torque on my self propelled Toro Mower seems to not be self driving like it used to. It also is making a weird sound.
ANSWER : I agree with the previous answer. Likely the belt is off. Easy to fix and it happens pretty easy especially if you hit sticks or a branch and something (even a tiny stick or twig) finds its way under the plastic cover and gets into the belt area. Grab a pair of pliars, take off the bolt holding the plastic part down on the front and check the belt. If it is off or not alligned right, slip back on check debris. If problem is still there you may be looking at the actual drive shaft itself and that can be a real problem….the kind you may want to take to the local hardware store.
