The answer is usually there are too many programmed start times — program start times are being confused with zone (station) run times. Some controllers have up to eight start times per day to a single program (e.g. A).
A common reason why a program is repeating is that you have a second start time set. The start times control the exact time your ESP-Me timer will begin to water and they also control how many times a day your timer will water. The ESP-Me allows you to set up to 6 start times per program.
There are two reasons why sprinklers would continue to run with the controller Off or Unplugged: It`s possible your valves were opened manually. Locate your valve box(es) and turn the solenoid(s) clockwise until snug.
If your sprinkler controller is not working properly, you may need to reset it. To do this, first, turn off the power to the controller. Then, remove the cover of the controller unit and locate the reset button. Press and hold the reset button for about 15 seconds.
To do so, slowly open the main water valve for the sprinkler system. By slowly opening the valve, you prevent the water pressure from breaking or damaging any parts of the sprinkler system. It is recommended to open that valve less than a quarter so you allow the pipes to be charged without any pressure.
The TORO TMC-212 has an array of features with advanced, modular construction. Options such as indoor and outdoor models and a station count of two to twelve make it a fit for a variety of residential applications. It is simple to program and install.
Too Little Air in the Reservoir Tank

These tanks depend on air pressure within to regulate the pressure switch. If the inside air pressure drops, the tank will not trigger the pressure switch correctly, causing the pump to switch ON and OFF erroneously.

A clogged carburetor is most commonly caused by leaving fuel in the lawn mower for a long period of time. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and cause the engine to stall.

ANSWER : All, I thought my carb was shot, so I replaced it. Still, start but no run (and had to use starting fluid). THEN!!! I noticed the spring to the “rev limiter” (just below and towards rear of carb) was not “tight”. The stupid bracket that holds the end of that spring had been bent down ~1/16″ and that caused all this heartache. CHECK YOUR REV LIMITER!!!

I was able to start my 5HP Toro but it is running rough. It wouldn’t start at first so I drained the gas and put in fresh. After several pulls it started. I started it because we are expecting a snow storm. The way it is running I’m fear that when it has a load on it will die out. Is there something I can do to clear up the problem?
