How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
Clogged carburetors or air filters can cause a pressure washer not to start. If your pressure washer won`t start, you can also check for a clogged carburetor or air filter.
Begin isolating the problem by hooking a water hose to the washer`s inlet and turning it on. If water flows out the outlet, you know water is cycling through. If not, chances are your inlet filter is clogged. Remove and clean it, and you should be good to go.
If the pressure washer does not start, then the first thing to check is the fuse in the plug. The reading you`re looking for is the same as it would be when connecting the two probes of the multimeter together (as you can see in the example of this video, this fuse is actually fine).
These include an incoming power problem, a damaged power cord, a malfunctioning door lid switch or lock, a defective user control board or timer, a broken drive belt, or a faulty or obstructed drain pump.

New pressure washer runs starts and runs for 30-45 minutes with no problems then dies and will not restart. Once it cools for a few minutes it will restart but will die again quickly. If it is allowed to sit for 30+ minutes it will run for another half hour but then dies again. Changed oil, gas, checked all obvious areas. Any suggestions?
Try removing the carb bowl and check for dirt/water etc , also if the machine is over heating it may be getting vapour locked
My coleman powermate 2750 pressure washer locks the engine up when the trigger is pulled. after a few seconds you can restart it.it comes up to good pressure but kills the motor. Some have told me they thought it was teh pump, but the sprays a little. I would think if the pump was bad it wouldn’t spray at all? Comments?
All i can say is its not a good mechine I owen and repair washers and pumps and use them in line of business thats all i can tell you sorry
Starts great and sprays great, but will not continue to run when [ stop spraying. It locks up until I release the pressure from the gun.is there a pressure by-pass adjustment I can make?
Tune up motor, replace air filter/spark plug and oil.
1750 psi Electric Pressure Washer: My pressure washer is losing pressure and is pulsa…
If the pressure washer is pulsating then that is a sign of check valve failure. You may be able to clean of replace the check valves. Replacing the head is the wrong way to go. This is completely unnecessary. If you can tell me the model number of your pressure washer then I can assist you better in pointing you in the right direction.
Need help in getting Honda engine on NorthStar pressure washer to run.
Could be low water pressure I have found. Also, I purchased a can of “stuff” at Lowes today which allows you to circulate a liquid substance which lubricates the pressure pump….the pump could be frozen up…I have a rotating nozzle which I bought…and it had frozen up…this stuff works
Honda powwer boss 3000-whenyoupull the handale to spray it kills the engine
Sounds like the unloader (regulator). Try removing the nozzle, the pull the trigger with the engine running. If motor is still running then it could be the Unloader malfunctioning. If you require a new one try a bypass system for the unloader. The bypass will help save the life of the unloader.
Kranzle electric washer will not suck up soap
Hi, if it has a chemical injector on the machine then the pressure at the lance will have to be lowered for it to pull in soap. it works on a similar principle to how carburetors on cars pull in fuel, bernouli principle. high pressure at one side of an orifice going to low pressure at the other side which causes a negative pressure ( vacuum) which should pull in the soap. there should be a non return valve at the orifice (hole) which prevents the water back feeding into the soap container, it is quite common for this valve to get stuck, it is just a ball, spring and o ring , and the ball sticks to the o ring. if it is this system then take the soap pick up pipe off the injector and just push the ball off it’s seat with a bit of wire.If it is a high pressure soap system then that is different, but they usually work with an injector in my experience.try taking the high pressure hose off the front off the machine and running it, if it has an injector on it it should pull in plenty off soap.hope this helps ,andy
My pressure washer runs 4 about 20-25 min then it starts knocking and pinging then shutsdown it has plenty of oil i checked it and replaced it with 5-20 oil it starts hard always has if you let it sit for about an hour it will start back up sound fine and work good untill it happens again any thoughts to what might be happening to it?
Sounds like the engine is overheating either due to restricted air flow over the cylinder and head assembly, or the engine is running very lean due to a plugged fuel filter, dirty carburetor, or plugged muffler. Hope this helps!
