Q: How do I mix gas and oil? A: Mix 3.2 ounces of Poulan 2-cycle air cooled engine oil to one gallon of fresh unleaded gasoline to obtain the recommended 40:1 fuel to oil ratio.
Poulan encourages customers to use its own brand of 2-cycle oil for air-cooled engines, most commonly found in 3.2 ounce size. Poulan brand oil is was designed specifically for its chainsaws and thus it is the only oil the brand guarantees.
Insert a small flat-head screwdriver into the idle speed screw and turn it clockwise to increase the engine speed if it idles too slowly. As soon as the chain starts to move, turn the screw counterclockwise until the engine idles without dying and the chain stops moving for the correct idle speed.
The yellow fuel line is 3/32-inch ID x 3/16-inch OD x one foot long and the blue fuel line is 1/16-inch ID x 1/8-inch OD x one foot long. The fuel line fits Blowers, Chainsaws, Trimmers and other gas-powered equipment that use this size fuel line.

Absolutely. 10w40 is thick enough to mostly stay on the chain. Regular bar and chain oil have additives that keep the oil from slinging off the chain. This is why it is always recommended to use regular chain oil.
Husqvarna Corporation, a Swedish organization, is currently manufacturing Poulan chainsaws. It has several production facilities across North America and is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. Husqvarna has been producing outdoor power products since the 20th century.
Poulan Pro Pre-Mixed 40:1/50:1, Fuel + Oil is specifically formulated with premium Poulan Pro oil and additives for easier starting and extended engine life. Designed for use in Poulan Pro, Poulan and Weed Eater 2-Stroke air cooled engines that require 40:1 fuel + oil mixture.
the air filter should be inspected often and replaced at least once per year more if needed a very dirty air filter can be clogged to the point that a won`t win enough air into the engine this will cause the saw to lack power and make it hard to start it can also cause the saw to sporadically die replacing.
There may be old or bad fuel in the carburetor float bowl. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and make the engine hard to start. If the carburetor is clogged, try cleaning it with carburetor cleaner.
Over time, the spark arrestor can become clogged with soot. If the spark arrestor is clogged, the chainsaw may run stall or run rough. To unclog the spark arrestor, remove it and clean it with a wire brush. You can also replace the spark arrestor.
For a mixing ratio of 1 : 50 you need 5 litres of high-octane gas and 0.10 litres (100 ml) of STIHL two-stroke oil.
A: The fuel-oil mixture ratio is 40:1. You can obtain this ratio by mixing 3.2 oz. of two cycle air cooled engine oil with one gallon of regular gas. Over a period of time oil will separate from gasoline.
Poulan/WEED EATER brand synthetic oil is recommended. Mix gasoline and oil at a ratio of 40:1. A 40:1 ratio is obtained by mixing 3.2 ounces (95 ml) of oil with 1 gallon (4 liters) of unleaded gasoline.
For a 50:1 ratio of gas to oil, use 2.6 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gas. For a 40:1 mixture, use 3.2 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gas.

Husqvarna rancher, leaks oil when saw is off. where rubber hose meets pump, seems to fit together well but still leaks out. drains full tank of oil. any fixes or better parts.
ANSWER : The hose is leaking. You will have to replace the hose. You do not have to disassemble the saw in half as many seem to think. Just some of the parts that are in the way. You can insert a wire and pull the hose out from the oil tank along with the filter. It goes in and you remove only the parts that are in the way where the hose comes out.

They recommend 250 hours, but i’d change more often, like you said when it’s milky. If it begins to get water in the oil sooner, that indicates your piston to crankcase seal is beginning to leak.
