Experienced gardeners share their insights in answering this question :
I have the same problem. With mine I have to remove the tip that I am using then pull the trigger and then replace the tip and pull and pressure should return. I believe that one of my valves is sticking causing me to reprime the pump frequently. I am trying to clean or replace my valves to fix the problem.

I hope this helps.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

If there is a leak in any area of the cylinder head, the pressure that stops the machine from running will quickly disperse, causing the motor to restart or pulse. Try to find where the leak is coming from or replace the cylinder head seals. Another cause of the motor pulsing is water starvation.
Check for any kinks or blockages in your hose. If there are none, detach the hose from the inlet valve on the washer and check to see if the water output is sufficient and that there is no debris caught in the inlet filter screen that may be restricting the flow of water into the washer.
PLEASE NOTE: You should always press the RESET button on the GFCI before using the pressure washer.
A Worn Nozzle

Using an old, worn-out nozzle is a common cause of lost pressure, and also has one of the simplest fixes. All you need to do is replace the nozzle and make sure you`re using the proper size. Don`t go by the color of the nozzle, make sure you check the orifice size.

It Can Harm The Unit

Without water to cool and lubricate it, the pump will work harder than it should, causing it to wear down quickly. This can happen even with just a few seconds of running the pressure washer without the water being turned on. However, the pump is not the only part that takes damage.

WATER COMING OUT AT BOTTOM OF WASHER – Karcher K2.26 Electric Power Washer
ANSWER : Dear Sir,
In this case the seals surrounding the pistons (3 in number)..are faulty.
You can open the cover first ( by using a TORX T15 screw driver). Start machine in this way with all attached…( never run a power washer with out water and never store a power washer with pressure in it). When you start machine with out cover you can more easely see from where water is coming out. Mostly the case will be that water is coming out from between the head and the bottom part of machine. If water went into the bottom part…then the oil is ruined also.
So this case needs that all seals to be changed. One must inspect the pistons….because if the pistons are scrathed and pitted…then it is useless to put new seals. Thus new pistons must be put with new seals…and other gaskets renewed.

No pressure Pump reassembly. I purchased a new pump and installed it. Got machine back together and I’m not getting any pressure. What would be the signs if I don’t have the shaft key in properly? Or any other suggestions?
Water comes out of nozzle with pressure for a quick second then no pressure, just water. This is a brand new pump so was curious if I installed it wrong. Wondering before taking it apart again.
ANSWER : No pressure would be a sign that the key was not in properly.

I have Karcher 520m and when you press the trigger you can hear what sounds like a relay engaging but there is no water pressure, then it will fire up and work, but next time you press the trigger the same thing happens, I have been using it on harvested water, but even connected to the mains it does the same thing. Its now got to the stage it doesnt want to work at all.
ANSWER : The issue you are having is with the unloader valve in the pump. Now with the 520m it is a little bit harder to repair than with more gasoline powered pressure washers but it can still be done. It would be easier if I could just send you a email of the breakdown on the machine. Send me a email to [email protected] with the discription of the problem you are having.
