nd shift it, the wheels turn like they should, but it doesn’t have enough force to move the machine, I can hold the wheels from turning with my hands. It did not lose power gradually, it happened all at once. It has plenty of fluid in it. The transmission is a Sundstrand model 90-1142, serial # 04-PC 55229. I thought it might be a relief valve open but I don’t know where it is. Where can I get a repair manual or parts list, I have spent hours on the net looking for info and have found nothing.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

If your John Deere won`t crank and all you hear are clicking sounds when you turn the key, you likely have a bad battery or a bad connection somewhere between the battery and the starter. Double check that the alternator and battery connections are clean and tight.
To start your tractor, make sure to set it in neutral, and turn the throttle all the way down. Turn the key one notch — not all the way at first — to get the equipment warmed up for half a minute or so. Then, just as with a manual car, push down on the clutch and start the engine. Your tractor should be up and running!
Tractor may be starving for fuel.

Sometimes the fuel cap prevents the fuel tank from breathing. The fuel tank can develop a vacuum. This could cause fuel to stop running to the engine – causing it to stall. If this is the case, give it an hour or two, and the tank pressure will reset and equalize.

If your tractor won`t move even when you put it into gear, it may have a malfunctioning clutch. If the tractor`s clutch gets stuck, for example, then releasing the clutch won`t drop the tractor into gear like it`s supposed to; the clutch would instead be keeping the tractor permanently suspended between gears.
The reasons why mower is not moving forward or reverse is that the battery is dead, or due to clogged fuel line. Additionally, malfunctioning transmission, or a broken drive belt, also a faulty spark plug, even when friction wheel isn`t in contact with the friction plate, or damaged Tires.
Failure of any mechanical component, a broken hose, or clogged filter will cause tractor hydrostatic transmission problems. But the most common issue will be the oil itself. In the transmission section of your operator`s manual, you`ll find a section that covers oil viscosity.
Most current-production tractors have the tachometer marked for the engine speed that will provide the 540-rpm or 1,000-rpm speeds for the PTO. The PTO speed is independent of the ground speed of the tractor. PTO-powered machinery needs to operate at the specified speed to operate as designed, with rare exceptions.
The hand and foot throttle are used to control the engine speed. The hand throttle should always be used when using the tractor in the field.
If your lawn mower turns on but won`t move, there could be a number of potential causes. The most common issues include a broken or damaged belt, a clogged discharge chute, a broken or damaged drive cable, or a damaged or clogged transmission.
The average lifespan of a tractor is 4,000 or more hours. Low hours on a tractor are pretty much anything less than where the warranty runs out.
The most common cause for slow or hard cranking is a poor ground circuit or bad electrical connection. With your John Deere, I would tend to think that it is weak ground either at the cable or where tractor ground/starter mounts. A tractor, in the same manner as a car, uses a DC electrical system.
This is usually caused by an overly tight gear cable or the low limiting screw that needs adjusting. You can test this by shifting to the lowest gear and seeing if your front derailleur is in line with the smallest chainring. If not, try adjusting the limiting screw. Alternatively, your gear cable may be too tight.
The main reason the car won`t go into gear is that the level of transmission fluid in the vehicle is lower than required. If the level is low despite regular maintenance, there may be a leak. Transmission fluid, therefore, is important to ensure that the car`s moving parts are properly lubricated for functioning.
Grinding gears, starting and stopping during operation, and the wheels not rotating with the pulley are common signs that your mower`s transmission is breaking down.
Can you pull a self-propelled lawn mower backwards? Yes, you won`t cause any damage to the mower by pulling it backwards.
One of the disadvantages of hydrostatic drives is that the majority of the oil stays in the loop and doesn`t return to the reservoir for cooling. One way to return some of the oil back to the tank is by using a hot oil shuttle valve.
They are filled with the specified pump fluid to match each pump design and then sealed by each manufacturer at their factories. Replacing hydrostatic fluid is normally not necessary, unless the drive system is in need of some other internal service or repair.
Although cavitation is much more common with hydraulic systems, it can also seriously damage hydrostatic transmissions. Caused when gases in the fluid vaporize, it`s characterized by noisy, erratic transmission operation. “If your machine runs low on hydraulic fluid, the hydrostatic pump can draw in air,” says Beesley.
However, it`s generally not recommended to drive a car at full throttle for an extended period as it can put excessive strain on the engine and other components, leading to potential damage or failure. It`s best to follow the manufacturer`s recommendations and use good judgment when operating your vehicle.
Based on that usage, a lower-quality line of residential mowers is expected to last 450-500 hours, while a John Deere residential lawn mower will last around 1,000-1,500 hours.
Duration of the 2,200 foot (670 m) ride is under one minute.
However, if you don`t have this handy feature it is worth noting that generally, the ideal revs for a petrol engine are between 1,500-2,000rpm and for a diesel engine between 1,200-2,000rpm.
So where, exactly, is your engine`s sweet spot? In general, it`s in the range of 1250-1350 RPM, but it varies for each engine. You should never exceed 1500 RPM. We can tell you the officially-designated peak horsepower and peak torque for your engine to help identify your sweet spot.
The ECM is a type of electronic control unit (ECU), which is an embedded system that employs software to determine the required throttle position by calculations from data measured by other sensors, including the accelerator pedal position sensors, engine speed sensor, vehicle speed sensor, and cruise control switches.

ANSWER : I would recommend that you check your fuel filter to see if it is dirty/clogged, check you spark plug to see if it is getting fire. Replace either if needed. If you are not getting spark there are only a few things that it could be, either a coil, pick up coil, or magneto.
