If the PTO clutch is not getting power, if the clutch solenoid is defective, or if the clutch is worn out, the lawn mower blades will not engage. The PTO clutch is not repairable—if the clutch is defective, you must replace it.
Inspect the V-belt for damage and replace it with a new one if necessary. Damaged control cable – A broken, or misadjusted, control cable will prevent the mower from self-propelling as well. If the cable is intact but doesn`t move freely, you can try applying a small amount of lubrication to the cable.

The typical front or rear drive walk mower uses some form of belt-and-pulley arrangement to direct power from the engine`s output shaft to a gear box on a front or rear axle (or a gear at the wheel). There are several variations of this design, but all work well and are reasonably easy to maintain and repair.
Our Cruise Control hydrostatic transmission uses a hydraulic pump and motor, just like you`d find in professional riding equipment. Ground speed is varied by changing the rate of flow of the hydrostatic fluid. There is no “slipping” belt or clutch to wear out. It`s heavy duty and remarkably durable.
some riding mowers have a gear driven transmission which uses a foot pedal to release the tension on the belt when shifting manually to different speeds or direction other mowers have a hydro transmission which uses a belt to turn a hydraulic pump and a cooling fan turned by the drive pulley to keep the transmission …
If the PTO clutch is not receiving power, the clutch solenoid is defective, or the clutch itself is worn out, the blades will not engage. Since a PTO clutch is not repairable, you will need to replace a broken or worn out clutch with a new one.
So can you push a self-propelled lawnmower? You can push a self-propelled lawnmower, it won`t damage the transmission in any way. However, it may be difficult to do so, self propelled mowers are a little heavier than a regular push mower.

Lawn mower cranck but wont start…
ANSWER : Since you already checked for spark and air I would drain all the fuel out of it and check that fuel for water. Over time some lawn mowers end up with contaminated fuel. You can see the water sitting on the bottom of the fuel if you let it stand for a bit in a small plastic bowl.

Be sure to empty and dry out you fuel can as well. Especially if the mower stopped running right after a refuel. Which is a good sign your gas can is contaminated too.
