A bit more time consuming and requires patience more than skill on this task. First, only take off 1 of the fuel lines at a time. That way you can make sure you put the right hose on the right fitting. Let’s start with the line with the filter. Take the line off the carburetor. Cut a bit of it and go to a mower repair shop to get your new fuel line. Get about 2 feet. That’s about double what you need, but will probably waste some in the process. When you get the new line, cut a sharp point at 1 end. Get a needle nose pliers and reach into your fuel tank and pull out the filter and the rest of the fuel line. Get a fairly fine wire, wrap it around the pointed end of the new fuel line. Snake the wire into the tank and out the small hole. This will help you pull the new hose into the tank and out the hole. This might take a bit of time. When you get the new hose out, square off the end and push it on the carb fitting. Cut the hose where it enters the tank and slip your fuel filter on and drop into the tank. 1 down and 1 to go.Host #2 can be put into the tank the same as #1, or you can try to push it in from the top. May work with a little lubrication. Hook #2 up to the carb. This should get you up and running.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

If any of the lines wear out and rupture it will cause the vehicle to leak fuel. Leaky fuel lines will produce drips, or in more serious cases, puddles of fuel on the undersides of the vehicle. Depending on which fuel injection lines are leaking, the fuel leaks will usually be at the front or rear of the vehicle.
If you`ve got a fuel line that`s bordering on ancient, it may be clogged up. Over the years, gunk will build up in your fuel line – even with the best fuels. Gunk can be caused by engine debris or imperfections in your fuel. A clogged fuel line may cause engine sputtering, or it may kill a running engine entirely.
Clean the gas pump, fuel lines and injectors by adding cleaner to the gas and running the engine. Add a second cleaner directly to the warm engine to remove gunk and carbon deposits from the combustion chambers.
If the line is old, cracked or broken, it needs immediate maintenance. Otherwise, your car could leak gasoline or have problems delivering it to the engine. If you find your fuel leaking on the pavement, or you can smell gasoline constantly, this could be a fuel hose problem.
Standard rubber vacuum or heater hose should never be used in fuel applications. The hose will deteriorate from the inside out and can plug fuel filters and carburetors with rubber debris, long before it springs an external leak.
One option for replacing metal fuel lines is with a nylon tubing and specific fittings. Nylon tubing can be used for an entire length of fuel line or just a section. This option can be a cost-effective and time-efficient repair when pre-bent lines are not available.
Each time the car cranks and runs, the fuel hoses will have transport the fuel to the combustion chamber. These hoses can last anywhere from 10,000 to 50,000 miles depending on what they are made of.
Most cars come from the factory with Metal Lines because they hold up better than any soft material. They are usually made from stainless, aluminum or coated steel tube. Metal is the best material for fuel lines.
Remove fuel pump from tank (avoid letting residual debris fall into the tank). Insert hose into fuel tank and begin pouring a stream of clean, hot water. While water is filling, spray mild detergent in the tank. If opening allows, use a brush to loosen debris from the sides of the tank.
With a fuel leak, a car is never safe to drive.

Since gas is extremely combustible, it is possible that it may spark a fire, either inside the car or elsewhere, if it leaks. Therefore, fixing the leak as soon as possible is highly recommended.

Look at the joint between the fuel line and the carburettor, and then check other joints, working all the way back to the tank. Put the car up on ramps or axle stands to inspect the section under the floor. Bend flexible pipes between your fingers to show up splits or cracks.
It`s never safe to drive a car with a fuel leak. Fuel leaks are one of the top causes of vehicle fires. Gas is highly flammable, so it is highly likely that the gas could start a fire, either in the vehicle itself or from the fuel left behind from a leaking vehicle.

Replaceing fuel line in polan 3300 chain saw – Poulan Pro 42CC 2 Cycle Chainsaw, 18"
ANSWER : Hi owjbhend…
Use a piece of wire and insert it into the fuel line, then bend a hook in the end and hook it over the end of the fuel line…lubricate the fuel line with some vaseoline very lightly…about the first one inch of the fuel line and then use your fingers to start the fuel line into the tank, once you have the fuel line in the tank give enough to hook the fuel filter to and so it can be dropped back into the tank.
Below is a drawing of how to route the fuel lines.

Need to replace fuel lines on my Troy Bilt gas hedge trimmer. Where can I get replacement fuel lines… or better yet… what size are the lines and where can I buy a few feet of the lines. Note: I have reviewed the parts assembly and it would seem to indicate I have to replace the entire handle assembly (Part #1) instead of just buying replacement hose(s). Any help to resolve my issue would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance
ANSWER : Replacement fuel lines should be readily available at your local lawnmower repair shop. Your TroyBilt hedger uses fuel line that is 3/32″ (2.4mm) interior dimension, 3/16″ (4.8mm) outside dimension, with a 3/64″ (1.2mm) wall dimension.
Most manufacturers don’t offer replacement line, only fuel tank assemblies. Find your local shop, and try to get the TYGON brand…it is yellow. Tygon lasts the longest. You should be able to buy it by the foot for less than $2 per foot. You will need 2 feet of hose to replace both lines.

Make sure to clean the in-tank filter when replacing hoses.

Good luck.

I need to replace to fuel lines on a Craftman 32cc trimmer. The old ones cracked apart. 2 of the lines look like 1/8″ OD one line looks like 3/32″ OD. Larger line looks like it hooks to filter, Smaller line to a fitting in the gas tank. I am assuming the smaller line ges to the primer inlet. My question is the lines penetrate the bottom of the gas tank. How do they seal. How do I install the filter and the fitting. I am assuming to thread the new lines in from the bottom of the tank and pull through the gas cap hole. Then I attach filter or fitting and pull back through. So do I pull the line so as to create a seal from the swell caused by the fitting/filter?
ANSWER : Depending on the brand of line you use, Tygon line is self sealing but seems to shrink faster then factory supplied because of the ethanol in the gas. The stone gas filter is designed to fall to the lowest part of the tank, not stop the line from falling out.
