Black and Decker automatic feed spool problems may include a jammed or tangled line, clogs from trimming heavy weeds, or an overheated motor in the trimmer itself. An overheated motor can be caused by reloading the spool with a line thicker than the size recommended by manufacturer.
If the drive cable is broken or detached, the trimmer head will not spin. To inspect the drive cable, remove the engine assembly from the shaft and look to see if the cable is in its proper place. Reinstall the cable if it has slipped from its place. If the cable is damaged or broken, it should be replaced altogether.

Something could be blocking the cap, keeping the line from advancing. To inspect and replace, simply remove and clean out the bump cap housing of any debris that may be impacting its operation. If the cap is damaged, replace it. The cap allows you to feed more line when you tap it on the ground.

The line continually spools out. Used both rolls of line to trim my yard 1st time I used it.

White lever. sounds like I have the samr problem. How do I replace it?????
ANSWER : Remove the cap the line/spool assy.them you will see the lever.
you can pull the lever by pliers gently or you can push the lever from the back if you can get in to the back.
