Mower will turn over every time I push the primer button three-four times, but will not stay running. Spark plug is wet, and some (very little) wet carbon comes out the exhaust. Smoke is white initially when it turns over. I’ve completely removed, and cleaned the carb and checked the bowl. Everything is clean, no gunk, I can see thru the tubes and needle; no problem. All gaskets are intact and still look new. I’ve also drained all of the old gas that was in the tank (and carb) and replaced with fresh gas straight from the pump of the correct octane (87). I’ve replaced, and checked the gap (.03

The primer bulb might be damaged, or the carburator diaphram could have been damaged if carburater cleaner was used.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Loose, Dirty or Disconnected Spark Plug in Your Lawn Mower: Check it out, clean off debris, re-connect and tighten. Dirty Air Filter: Clean or replace. Fuel Not Reaching the Engine: Tap the side of the carburetor to help the flow of gas. If this doesn`t work, you might need a new fuel filter.
The circuit breaker may have tripped.

Then check around the blade and clear any debris that may be blocking it. Reattach the spark plug boot and reinsert key. Wait 30 seconds so the breaker can self-reset, then try restarting.

When you hear a click as you turn the key, a weak battery, bad starter solenoid, faulty wiring, failed starter motor or a seized engine could be the cause.
Disconnected, dirty or fouled spark plugs are common causes for engines that won`t start. For small engines, spark plugs typically need to be replaced every season or after 25 hours of use. You should also check to make sure the spark plug gap is set correctly.
If the engine starter motor turns over, the starter solenoid needs to be replaced. If the engine starter motor does not turn over once a jumper wire is connected to the two large lugs on the starter solenoid, replace the engine starter motor.
Use Carburetor Cleaner

Fortunately, you can generally do this without even taking the carburetor out of the engine. Start by purchasing some commercial lawnmower carburetor cleanerOpens a new window, which comes in a simple spray can and will make it easy to clean the inside and outside of the carb.

Touch the metal shaft of a screwdriver to both of the large terminals at the same time. If the engine turns over and starts, the solenoid is bad and should be replaced. If the starter motor does not run, the motor itself is probably defective.
Their Briggs & Stratton 22 HP are small engines that rely on a number of components in order to effectively run. Common issues that can arise on Briggs & Stratton 22 HP engines include old spark plugs, a disconnected solenoid and an inaccurately spaced air gap.
A dead battery is the most common reason why engines fail to start up. A common reason for batteries to fail is drain. Your car`s battery typically expends a small portion of its storage to start your car up, and then recharges from your alternator as you move.
Electric start (also known as key start or push button start) is a lawnmower feature found on petrol lawnmowers, which allows you to start the engine at the push of a button or the turn of a key instead of pulling a recoil starter rope.
A Dirty Carburetor Can Cause a Lawnmower To Start Then Die

By far, the most common issue that causes a stalled motor is a dirty carburetor. The carburetor on your engine is the thing that draws in air and mixes it with the fuel. Contrary to what the movies might make you think, gasoline itself is not very flammable.
