Is there another type of switch that might work. The trigger on the switch broke due to age/elements.. I was just going to attempt to put some kind of off & on switch. I`m thinking that could be dangerous if hit accidentally.

The most common problem with a strimmer not starting is that there`s a problem with the fuel mix. Double check that you`ve used 40 parts fresh unleaded petrol to 1 part 2-stroke oil (40:1). Check the petrol you`ve used isn`t stale.
Husqvarna AB is a Swedish industrial company, one of the world`s largest manufacturers of saws, lawn mowers and garden equipment, as well as tools for stone cutting and for the construction industry.
The first Husqvarna factory is established by the waterfalls in the town of Huskvarna in southern Sweden (previously spelled Husqvarna) to manufacture weapons for the army.

I have a Toro 51598 electric leaf blower. Last year a breaker in the electrical box tripped and the blower naturally stopped. But, the episode seemed to have damaged the variable-air-flow-dial which on the blower – it was either on or off, nothing inbetween worked. This year, after some solid hours of operation, it just stopped working regardless of where where the variable-air-flow-dial was set. It is worth replacing that variable-air-flow-dial and some related components, or is there likely something else wrong with it? The bushings seem fine.
ANSWER : These machines are considered “disposable” items and most service centers won’t even repair them, saying that it is not “cost effective.” I have never come across a parts list for one other than maybe the plastic housing on them (they may exist), but costwise you may be better off getting another tool unless the Toro is still under warranty.

Corded electric mower loses power then comes back on during use
ANSWER : Same likely answer from several possibilities. Likely to be a poor electrical contact. Check *the supply had good contact for plug and an adequate fuse. *possible loose contact in the handle switch *if several years old, possible worn carbon brushes in motor. Easy to replace. *You should be using an RCD cut out switch. Check if mower works without it. Replace if dodgy

How do i wire a toggle switch tomy electric clutch orignal switch doesn’t work.
ANSWER : Ther are two wires, one power one ground. The ground wire should be grounded already[confirm with an ohm meter. You need to put a power sorce to the switch and one from it to the pto this will make it work but will make all the safety switches in-operable so it is not a safe thing to do.Your best bet is to replace the swich or the safety switch that is keeping it from working[seat switch or brake switch usually].
