The low-speed mixture screw is located in the end of the throttle shaft. The low speed mixture affects the idle quality and the low end engine power and throttle response.
Low-Speed Fuel Adjustment (marked L, this is the low-speed jet) – This is the adjustment that controls the amount of fuel in the combustible air/fuel mixture at idle speed. An adjustment that is set too rich will cause the engine to `oil up` and die at idle speed.

A slow-cutting chainsaw is a sign that you might need to sharpen or replace your chain.
Start by locating the three adjustment screws. They are typically labeled L (low speed jet), H (high speed jet), and I (idler jet).
L-Limit Screw Adjustment
Similar to the H screw setting, make the L screw too tight and back it out slightly until it is just right. This will provide the most protection from the derailleur shifting the chain beyond the largest cog and into the spokes. Shift the chain to the next to largest chainring in front.
Or it won`t shift far enough, whatever you do to the cable tension. You need to adjust the high (H) and low (L) limit screws on the derailleur. Viewed from behind the bike, the H screw limits how far the derailleur can move to the right, while the L screw limits how far the derailleur can move to the left.
If the pilot circuit is rich, the engine will have a rough idle or may not return to idle without “blipping” the throttle. You may also notice a distinct smell of raw fuel and some eye irritation from the exhaust.
This method involves looking at the base of the spark plug insulator (white part of the plug) for a slight coloring on the insulator just above where the insulator comes through the steel case. If the mixture is too lean, it will leave no color, while a rich mixture will cause the fuel ring to become more prominent.
Improper carburetor float level setting or excessive fuel pressure can cause a rich idle condition. A carburetor power valve opening prematurely because of an incorrect vacuum opening point (indicated by the number printed on the valve) or insufficient idle vacuum can make the situation worse.

Trimmer takes a long time to warm up. Cuts out when under full trottle and will not idle. Which screws are high and low speed adjust? There are two of them side by side. Do U need a special tool to adjust hi/lo speed screws?
Sounds like the carb needs cleaning, it is staying on choke to long. I would not bother the screws, or either a hose for the gas flow is bad.
MY PUMP WILL ONLY RUN ON LOW SPEED ( NEUTRAL AND BLACK) . PUMP IS MARKED 230 v , ? DOES THIS RUN ON NEUTRAL TO 120 FOR LOW SPEED AND NEUTRAL TO 120 FOR HIGH SPEED AND USE SEPERATE WINDINGS OR IS HIGH SPEED CONNECTED ACROSS BLACK AND RED. (230v)
If this is 220v then your netural is not a netural but a common. Meaning it is common 110v to both the high and low speeds of pump. The high and low speed are the same leg of the 220v or the other 110v leg they just separate at the clock or high/ low switch. Then yes they run through separate windings for high and low.
If your not getting high speed it could be the high speed winding but be sure to check your switch and high speed lead first before doing anything else.
The tines on a honda f220 always spin and don’t change speed when clutch is engaged but speed up when throttle is increased. Adjusted cable with no luck.
I believe that unit utilizes a centrifical clutch. try decreasing the idle speed and see if the tines stop. They should then engage as throttle is increased.
Waterway 2 speed pump wired to single speed timer box
Need to know what the setting is for needle valve on a 460. I increased the gap when I was trying to fix a problem of running too lean. Fix the problem, but messed up the needle valve. The problem was the screen filter in the car was plugged. Now the saw will not idle because it is too rich and I can get high rpm because of too rich.

Turn both H and L jet needles CW to stops (lightly), then back out 1-1/2 turns each CCW. This is a basic setting and will be rich. Start the engine and allow to warm up. Pull the throttle full on and turn the H needle CW until the engine starts to speed up, but continues to 4-stroke. Final adjustment is when the engine 4-strokes at speed with no load, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Release the throttle and allow to idle. Turn the L jet needle CW until the engine idles fairly well, but still allows the engine to ‘follow the throttle’. Idle speed screw should be adjusted to keep the engine idling, but the chain should not try to turn. Hope this helps!

Your Idle and Hi speed jets are out of adjustment. If you look near the carborator you should see two, they usually brass screws. There should be markings by them one HI and the other Low for high speed and idel jet adjustment. You adjust the high speed jet for best running and power while sawing, then you adjust low speed for best idle. This needs to be done occasionally. Or take it in to a service shop. It is best if you learn to do it as from time to time it will be needed. When I was in my late teens I was a logger and these adjustments would need to be done 5 or 6 times a day.
