How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Your traveling sprinkler will travel an average of 0 to 37 feet per hour depending on what speed you select: HIGH, LOW, or NEUTRAL.
Nelson Big GunĀ® Sprinklers are ideal for a wide range of applications. With a full range of models available (see The Original Big GunĀ® brochure), flow rates of 30-1200 GPM (6.8-275 m3/hr) can be achieved with maximum uniformity to match a variety of needs.
A tractor-shaped sprinkler, like the Orbit Traveling Sprinkler (available at Amazon for $79.99) , can help you more efficiently water the grass. This relatively small, heavy-duty sprinkler-on-wheels follows the path of up to 200 feet of garden hose, spraying water 360 degrees up to 50 feet.
Split the amount of water you need per week into daily applications. For example, in the summer you need 2 inches of water per week. Your sprinklers apply one inch in 20 minutes. This means you need to water 40 minutes per week.
Most only go approximately 60 feet per hour! The back wheels push the front wheel, which guides the tractor along the hose. When the sprinkler reaches the end of its path, it activates its automatic shut-off.
Its three speed settings allow for different rates of coverage, select from high, low, or neutral speed control. In high gear, the sprinkler travels approximately 37 feet per hour and applies about 1/4 inch of water. In low gear, the sprinkler travels approximately 21 feet per hour and applies about inch of water.
Watering gardens

A garden hose or sprinkler system will typically use around 15 litres per minute.

The average system uses approximately 15-16 gallons per minute, per station. Here is an easy formula to help you calculate the approximate amount of water you are using each month.
The most commonly used residential sprinklers are 4.9 k-factor pendant sprinklers. The minimum pressure and flow for these sprinklers is 7 psi at 13 gpm for spacing up to 16 feet by 16 feet. Hence, the most common demand for two sprinklers flowing is 26 gpm.
Under unobstructed construction, the distance between the sprinkler deflector and the ceiling shall be a minimum of 1 in. (25 mm) and a maximum of 12 in. (300 mm) throughout the area of coverage of the sprinkler.
Calculate your available flow in the following way: Divide 60 (seconds in a minute) by the time it took to fill the bucket (let`s say 15 seconds) then multiply that figure by 10 (the number of liters in the bucket) or 60. 15 = 4 x 10 = 40 liters/minute.
Typical sprinkler flow rates may vary from 4 gallons per minute (gpm) from a 5/32-inch nozzle at 30 pounds pressure to over 11 gpm from a 7/32-inch nozzle at 70 pounds pressure.
