How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Husqvarna two stroke engines are designed to run on clean, fresh, unleaded petrol. A fuel / oil ratio of 50:1 is recommended for all Husqvarna 2-stroke products.
A clogged carburetor is most commonly caused by leaving fuel in the string trimmer for a long period of time. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and cause the engine to stall.
Be sure to use 89 octane or higher unleaded fuel. For best results, use Husqvarna brand two-stroke engine oil that if FD certified. Always mix gasoline and oil in a clean fuel container, not in the chainsaw`s fuel tank. Fill half the amount of gasoline to be used.
Most modern chainsaws, string trimmers, leaf blowers and other small-engine two-stroke equipment recommend a 50:1 oil mix ratio, but some recommend 40:1 and older two-stroke equipment might even call for 32:1.
Just Like Spark plug fouling, too much oil in the gasoline, inferior oil, a dirty air filter and/or continued operation at less than full throttle will plug the screen with carbon deposits. This prevents exhaust gases from flowing out, which leads to power loss or not running at all.
If your trimmer engine idles, but stalls on throttle, check the following parts: the gasket, primer bulb, fuel filter, air filter, fuel vent, fuel line, and carburetor. The repair and symptom guide will help you better identify the part needed to be replaced and how.
No. You need 2 cycle oil.
If the spark plug produces a spark and you are still having difficulties starting your chainsaw, it`s time to check the gap. The spark plug gap is an air gap between the ground electrode and the center electrode. If the gap is too small, the spark struggles to ignite the fuel and air mixture.
Smart Start is one of Husqvarna`s unique technology because when their chainsaws are installed with it, it means it`s extremely easy to start.
While there are a few similarities, the GasGas holds its own. The GasGas enduro range has been built with the same brake discs, with the key difference being Braktec master cylinders and calipers, and on the clutch side, a Braktec master & slave cylinder. The exhausts are different between the GasGas and the KTM.
CAUTION! The machine is equipped with a two-stroke engine and must always be run using a mixture of petrol and two- stroke engine oil.
But as a general guide, a fuel-to-oil ratio of 50:1 is recommended for Husqvarna products up to and including 75cc. That comes out to 2.5 fluid ounces of oil per 1 gallon of gas. In certain heavy-use applications, models above 75cc may be run on a mix of 33:1.
2-Stroke Oil Mix Calculator

For a 50:1 ratio of gas to oil, use 2.6 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gas. For a 40:1 mixture, use 3.2 fluid ounces of oil per gallon of gas.

A naturally aspirated engine, running on pump gasoline will normally make the most horsepower at an AFR of about 12.8 – 13.0. An AFR of about 14.6 will produce the best fuel economy.
Unless your tool instructions specifically say to store the battery on the charger, be sure to remove it after charging is complete. Overcharging can damage a battery and shorten its life, and not all chargers shut off automatically.
With repeated use over time coarse hair can cause blade tips to become very sharp and pointy. Skip tooth blades are very prone to being “sharpened” by coarse hair. Careful! They can literally make slices in the animals skin if they are sharp enough.
You have a large yard.

A vast majority of the cordless electric string trimmers in our ratings last for 30 minutes or less, cutting on a single charge. Gas trimmers will run indefinitely as long as you keep adding gas.

If your trimmer won`t turn on, especially if it has not been used recently, you may simply have a drained battery. Plug your trimmer into your charger and see if anything happens. Ideally your trimmer will recognize it has been connected to a power source and charge its battery.
If your 2-stroke brushcutter fails to start, the simplest explanation is that there is not enough fuel: in this case you simply need to top it up. A 2-stroke brushcutter engine runs on fuel/oil mixture, which you can buy ready prepared, such as EFCO-Mix Alkilate alkylated mixture in a 5 L can.
So, an air filter might clog over time. Once blocked with dust and debris, it cannot supply the required amount of oxygen to your trimmer` engine resulting in power loss. Find the air filter, take out this component, clean and reassemble it. Replace the part if you cannot reuse it.
The quantity of the weights in the one litre kerosene oil is 0.819 Kg. The quantity of the weight in the 10 litre petrol is 7.02 kg.
There are a few types of gas you can use for your gas weed eater, but don`t forget to check the one typical for the model you have. Also, avoid cheap gas since it can be fatal for the engine in the long run. Some people prefer going premium but, in general, mid-grade unleaded gas is usually the stuff of choice.
As with plug fouling, too much oil in the gasoline, inferior oil and continued low-rpm operation can plug the screen with carbon deposits. This prevents exhaust-gas flow, which leads to power loss. In extreme cases, heavy deposits choke airflow enough to leave you with a weed eater that won`t start.
All Weed Eater brand two-cycle gas trimmers use a 40:1 ratio of gas to oil. That`s equal to 3.2 ounces of oil to 1 gallon of regular gas. The gas should be 87 octane with no more than 10 percent alcohol. The oil must be formulated for two-cycle engines.
