How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

First, set the tip of the drill`s key into the matching hole on the chuck. You might have to give it a little turn so the teeth are able to slip together. From there, turn the key clockwise to loosen the chuck and counterclockwise to tighten it.
On most keyless chucks, you`ll see a screw at the base of the chuck, fastening it to the drill case. Insert a screwdriver of appropriate size and turn clockwise to remove the reverse-threaded screw. The screw is usually coated with thread-locking fluid, so this may require some force.
You need to make sure you turn the chuck by hand until you feel it ratchet down. So here`s how you use a keyless drill chuck more effectively: Hold your favorite drill or driver bit and turn the chuck until the teeth engage the bit (you can use the trigger to help if you prefer).
If the chuck is stuck open, check that the screw inside the drill chuck is fasten tight. If it is loose, it can prevent movement of the teeth. To solve this problem, insert the proper screwdriver in the drill chuck and tighten. Remember, this screw is reversed thread so turn it counter clockwise to tighten.
Keyed Chuck

Keyed chucks are designed to use a key to loosen or tighten the grip on a tool. When slippage is an issue during heavy-duty operations, keyed chucks have the benefit of delivering additional torque to the bit. They can rotate in either a clockwise or a counterclockwise direction.

With the chuck facing toward you place the key into one of the holes on the left side of the chuck. Using a wooden mallet or similar object, strike the key sharply in a counter-clockwise direction. This will loosen the chuck so that it may be unscrewed by hand. There is no way to stop the motor from turning.
Always keep hands and fingers away from the drill bit. Always remove the chuck key. Tools in poor condition must not be used.
Make sure the drill bit or cutting tool is locked securely in the chuck. Remove the chuck key before starting the drill press. Lubricate drill bit when drilling metal.
The most likely reason your drill bit keeps coming loose is the chuck on your drill is worn out and not locking properly. To fix the issue you can replace the chuck, or if it makes more financial sense, buy a new drill.

Husky 435 chain brake is stuck in “locked” position with clutch cover off. How do I release the brake, so the cover will fit over the flywheel?
ANSWER : Hi, grab the cover in a vise in the same place the bar nuts tighten up to. Then pull the chainbrake lever back towards where the handle bar would normally be until it clicks and locks back. This will require a bit of force. Then refit the cover as normal. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

Won’t turn over when I try to start
ANSWER : Really clean your battery connectors, Make sure jumper cables are beefy or
they will not allow enough power. If your starter clicks, it is either
stuck engine, weak battery, dead solenoid connectors or dead armature inside the
starter. In rare cases cable connections can come loose at the solenoid (A mechanic knows to take some solenoids
apart and turn the connectors upside down to the uncorroded side.) Make sure your blade is not stuck, make sure your brake is in the correct position, make sure your engage levers and shift linkage are in the neutral start positions.
