When pulling trigger I ahve to giggle roating pressure control on lance to obtain high pressure. As soos as I release trigger and then pull again I lose pressure and have to move pressure control to regain, although it should be on last high pressure setting.
I have purchased a patio washer which attaches directly to the washer without the pressure control lance. On use, I don`t obtain high pressure. Any advice please.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Surging occurs when the pressure is fine and then weakens. It is caused when the flow rate for the pump cannot be supported by the water supply. Problems can mount from there so it is important that it is dealt with as soon as possible.
Leaks are the biggest contributor to a cycling machine.

Verify if connections are tightened properly. Water leaking from a loose connection can cause the unit to cycle on and off. Verify if the pressure hose has an O-ring at the connection. If missing, this will also cause the unit to cycle on and off.

If the machine is pulsing whilst in use, it may be that the accessory you are using has a blockage. Clear by soaking the accessory in warm soapy water and then rinsing out under the tap.
You may need to rebuild or replace the pump assembly. If the pump is more than a few years old, and you use the pressure washer fairly often, replace the pump assembly. If the pump is relatively new, and you don`t use the pressure washer often, either rebuild the pump assembly or replace the pump seals.
Surging Pressure Washer Troubleshooting Tips

This can be confirmed when the trigger is released and the pressure builds back up to a normal level. It is telling the operator that the water supply does not meet the pump`s recommended flow rate.

A clogged carburetor is most commonly caused by leaving fuel in the pressure washer for a long period of time. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and cause the engine to run stall.
Some of the most common faults that will make your washer stop mid cycle include thermostat failure, problems filling up with water for the rinse cycle, or even pump problems that prevent your washer from draining. One thing that you can check yourself is the lid switch.
Usually, well water pulsates when there isn`t enough air pressure in the tank. The two parts that regulate this pressure are the electric pressure switch and the internal air bladder inside the water tank. If either of them is malfunctioning, this can cause the water from your taps to pulsate rather than flow steadily.

I have a K3.68m. I hook up the water turn, on the unit, the hose pressurizes but when I pull the trigger nothing happens. This unit is only about a year old and only used twice. It did the same thing intermittently before. The trigger has a different feel like a switch is not actuating or something when it does this. Please advise. Reg
ANSWER : Sounds to me like you have a partially blocked jet on the end os the lance. If this is not clear then the machine will not start correctly.

No pressure Pump reassembly. I purchased a new pump and installed it. Got machine back together and I’m not getting any pressure. What would be the signs if I don’t have the shaft key in properly? Or any other suggestions?
Water comes out of nozzle with pressure for a quick second then no pressure, just water. This is a brand new pump so was curious if I installed it wrong. Wondering before taking it apart again.
ANSWER : No pressure would be a sign that the key was not in properly.

Soap feed The soap feed hose on my Karcher 2650 does not suck up the soap into the washer. I pulled off the connector piece that the hose is connected to. I can blow through the hose. There is a little metal finger thing that you can tell pushes up into place when the water pressure is high. It seems like it is supposed to drop down and allow some soap through when the water is running. I found a loose(attached to nothing) gasket, looks like a little donut. It was just free floating in there. I’m thinking it may go over the finger mechanism. I just put it back on top of the finger, like a halo and put the screw in piece back in. Anyway, if you know, let me know how all that goes together.

I have Karcher 520m and when you press the trigger you can hear what sounds like a relay engaging but there is no water pressure, then it will fire up and work, but next time you press the trigger the same thing happens, I have been using it on harvested water, but even connected to the mains it does the same thing. Its now got to the stage it doesnt want to work at all.
ANSWER : The issue you are having is with the unloader valve in the pump. Now with the 520m it is a little bit harder to repair than with more gasoline powered pressure washers but it can still be done. It would be easier if I could just send you a email of the breakdown on the machine. Send me a email to just[email protected] with the discription of the problem you are having.
