You only need to change Karcher pump oil when the pump leaks or it`s drained for repairs. Most models require 4 ounces of oil, so a liter bottle can fill about eight pumps. KARCHER RECOMMENDS REPLACING PUMP OIL AFTER AN INITIAL 50 HOUR BREAK-IN PERIOD.
Pressure washer water pumps need relatively low oil recommended by the manufacturer, as specified in the owner`s manual. (Purchase pre-measured bottles of pump oil for water pumps without dipsticks.) Never use special oil additives or detergents, unless specified in the owner`s manual.
Most pressure washer pumps use a 30w non-detergent oil. This is because most pressure washer pumps use splash lubrication. This is a process that includes rotating “dippers” that throw oil into the pistons and cylinders.
Very important: non-detergent pump oil
Never put regular motor oil into your pressure washer pump. Make sure it`s labelled as “non-detergent” oil of the grade recommended in your owner`s manual.
If your pressure washer is gas powered then yes, it requires oil level checks and oil changes. More on this below. If your wash is electric, then obviously there`s no engine oil maintenance required, electric motors don`t use oil for lubrication. A water pump fitted to either gas or electric does contain oil.
Fuel Tank Size: 0.40 gal. Engine Oil Capacity: 0.63 qt.
It Can Harm The Unit Without water to cool and lubricate it, the pump will work harder than it should, causing it to wear down quickly. This can happen even with just a few seconds of running the pressure washer without the water being turned on. However, the pump is not the only part that takes damage.

My K2.91 pressure washer has an oil leak.Is this repairable.
ANSWER : It is repairable but it may cost you near the same amount of money to repair it compared to buying a new machine. Also with a new machine you then will have a 12 month warranty which is better to have as you may fix your machine and then something else may go wrong.
The problem sounds like the seals in the pump need changing so if you ask your local karcher dealer/service center they should give you a cost.
Oil leaking from within body of washer after half hours use and after switching off.. Oil is clean.
ANSWER : This is noticed on the Karcher washer and does not need any attention unless you are having a large spill over or leak. The oil oozes out when the pressure washer works for some time and is a result of a pressure leak when the washer is used for sometime.
I had seen this happen on mine for sometime , checked on all sides for any damage but there was none. So ignored but cleaned off the leak and was not seen then.

What oil or gear lube goes in the pump howsing
ANSWER : The correct oil to use is going to be a 15w40*1, this is a special oil that is made by Karcher, any other oil is going to breakdown much faster and will cause the bearings and wobble plate to not be properly lubed. See link to purchase oil or read more.
I have a Winner 108 pressure washer. I think it’s owned by Karcher. I was dismantling it to get the faulty run capacitor out, and when i pulled the housing off, it leaked out about 50ml of oil. What oil, and how much, do i need to replace it?
ANSWER : The oil is there to lubricate the pistons as they are pushed by the swash plate. This oil is usually normal multi- grade engine oil. In bigger machines, grade 90 oil is used. If you are not sure, get some multi-grade and 90 oil, and test with your hand. It should be very easy to see the difference. When filling, see that at least the pistons with the springs are getting wet with oil. Important not to overflow the oil. This overflow, might cause pressure and oil will get out of the seals and mix with the water. On the other hand, the seals must be renewed once you opened the oil side. This because water can enter through the seals and mix with the oil.
