How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
You may need to rebuild or replace the pump assembly. If the pump is more than a few years old, and you use the pressure washer fairly often, replace the pump assembly. If the pump is relatively new, and you don`t use the pressure washer often, either rebuild the pump assembly or replace the pump seals.
Pressure may decrease if your packing is worn out or if there are abrasives or severe cavitation (bubbles) in the pumped fluids. This can be caused by an inadequate amount of water and/or a lack of proper filtration. To fix, install the proper filter.
The first thing that you should do is to check the air filter for clogs caused by debris or dirt. Clean out any clogs that you find and the erratic revving may stop. The vented fuel cap may have also become clogged. Clean it too in order to enable air to flow freely into the engine.
Increase the Water Pressure
Another way to increase GPM is to turn up the water pressure. This can be done by adjusting the pressure valve on your pressure washer. Be sure not to increase the pressure too much, as this could damage the machine.
How Do I Tell If My Unloader Valve is Bad? In most occurrences, the first symptom of an unloader valve going bad is no pressure from the wand when the trigger is pressed. This happens when the unloader valve gets stuck open and does not allow water to enter the hose and trigger.
There could be small leaks, holes, or tears in your garden hose or high-pressure hose that are causing your pressure washer to lose pressure when you pull the trigger. If you find leaks, plug the holes or replace the hose, which should solve your pressure issues.
PLEASE NOTE: You should always press the RESET button on the GFCI before using the pressure washer.
If the machine is pulsing whilst in use, it may be that the accessory you are using has a blockage. Clear by soaking the accessory in warm soapy water and then rinsing out under the tap.

No pressure Pump reassembly. I purchased a new pump and installed it. Got machine back together and I’m not getting any pressure. What would be the signs if I don’t have the shaft key in properly? Or any other suggestions?
Water comes out of nozzle with pressure for a quick second then no pressure, just water. This is a brand new pump so was curious if I installed it wrong. Wondering before taking it apart again.
ANSWER : No pressure would be a sign that the key was not in properly.

ANSWER : Start the engine!
Unit pressurizes then unloads over and over again with green tip, with red works perectly
Soap feed The soap feed hose on my Karcher 2650 does not suck up the soap into the washer. I pulled off the connector piece that the hose is connected to. I can blow through the hose. There is a little metal finger thing that you can tell pushes up into place when the water pressure is high. It seems like it is supposed to drop down and allow some soap through when the water is running. I found a loose(attached to nothing) gasket, looks like a little donut. It was just free floating in there. I’m thinking it may go over the finger mechanism. I just put it back on top of the finger, like a halo and put the screw in piece back in. Anyway, if you know, let me know how all that goes together.
ANSWER : I fixed mine works good too, watch my video step by step i put it on youtubehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFXSLOBL0Mg
No high pressure. has been a consistant problem for a while. Was able to get high pressure to “kick-in” before by removing nozzle, squeezing trigger to “prime” high pressure, then quickly put nozzle back in then it would work. now it doesn’t work at all.
ANSWER : See this link to fix the problem
1750 psi Electric Pressure Washer: My pressure washer is losing pressure and is pulsa…
ANSWER : If the pressure washer is pulsating then that is a sign of check valve failure. You may be able to clean of replace the check valves. Replacing the head is the wrong way to go. This is completely unnecessary. If you can tell me the model number of your pressure washer then I can assist you better in pointing you in the right direction.
This pressure washer will continue to build pressure when you let off the trigger. I have replaced the hose 3 times because the pump continues to pump until it blows the hose. The pump will not stop pumping!
ANSWER : You have a defective pressure release valve or someone has misadjusted.
