Check for the simplest remedies first, such as whether the power cable is still connected and the switches are all in the right position. You may also need to check and replace fuses, reset breakers, check the pressure switch, and activate a reset switch to get the machine back into power mode.
The fuse pops when the compressor pulls too much power from the battery. Most air compressors are rated to draw ~18-30 Amps of current @ 13.8 volts(12-Volt systems when the alternator is spinning is at 13.8 Volts).
Most air conditioning units are equipped with a reset button. These buttons tend to be red and quite small. If you`re having a tough time finding it, consult your owner`s manual. (If you can`t find it, most are published online for quick reference).
After you`ve turned the system back on, it will take a bit of time for the air conditioner`s internal circuitry to reset. It usually takes about 30 minutes, so sit tight until then.
Compressor fails to start

Before starting, simply check the power button and switch. Breakers should also be checked if necessary. Aside from lack of electrical power, air compressors can also fail if it lacks sufficient air pressure in relation to the cut-in pressure.

If there is the voltage on the “line” side, test for voltage on the “load” side of the fuses by placing the meter`s leads on the load wire lugs. If you read voltage on this side(220-240V), this means the current is flowing through the fuse. If you get a zero-voltage reading on the load, this means your fuse is blown.
Some air compressors have reset switches while others will have in-line fuses that need to be checked. To find them follow the line of power from the air compressor back to the outlet. If you find a blown fuse or tripped breaker go ahead and either replace the fuse or reset the breaker.
The pressure switch is an important part on your air compressor. The pressure switch tells your compressor when to stop and when to start. But in my experience, it is also a part that will break down quite often. The air compressor pressure switch on small and older compressor is a completely mechanical device.
A magnetic starter is required for all three phase compressors and any single phase application where there is no overload protection for the motor.
Resetting your refrigerator compressor is a useful option for anyone looking to defrost their machine or adjust its temperature. A reset can also sometimes resolve other internal issues, like malfunctioning timer cycles, so it`s one of the first things you should try if your refrigerator seems to be having issues.
Alternatively called the reset switch, the reset button allows devices that utilize it, such as a computer or peripheral to be rebooted. Usually, the button is on the front of the device, next to or near the power button.
Some of the causes for car air conditioning compressor locking up include incorrect or low quality refrigerant being used, low coolant levels, and improper lubrication. You need to get your car checked out before any issue worsens.
To reset your reciprocating air compressor, allow time for the compressor to cool down and then push the reset button before attempting to turn the unit on again.
(If power is available at the compressor terminals, and no amp draw is shown, the internal overload may be open due to overheat, the unit must be cooled for the overload to reset.) This may take up to 24 hours.
Overheating is one of the main reasons why compressors fail, and it is usually caused by not enough refrigerant in the system.
Cases in points are absence, lack or excessive amount of oil or refrigerant, blocked heat exchanger surfaces, missing compressor components, wrong refrigerant, absence or wrong overload protector and electrical miswiring.
Inside the fuse, there is a metal ribbon through which all the current on the circuit passes. The ribbon is sized to match the circuit wire gauge, and if too much current passes through the ribbon, it melts through, or “blows,” and the circuit goes dead.
Remove the fuse from its holder. In some cases you may need a small screwdriver to unscrew the fuse holder cap. Look at the fuse wire. If there is a visible gap in the wire or a dark or metallic smear inside the glass then the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced.
Usually, AC units use “TR”-type fuses to ensure safe operation. However, if you need to replace a fuse quickly and don`t have that exact one, you can use a fuse rated for a lower amperage.
A question that seems to come up frequently – presumably because the fan or AC fails and a capacitor is found to have blown. The answer is always the same – no, it is there because it needs to be there, and can`t be bypassed.
Most compressors have a surge control system. This is a gas path controlled by an automatic valve linking the inlet system to the output system. To prevent surge, once a drop in gas supply is noted, the valve linking the outlet pipe to the inlet pipe is opened.
The run capacitor is used to improve the running efficiency of a compressor`s motor. The run capacitor is placed in series with the start winding of the compressor and will remain in the circuit as the motor operates.
Locate the high pressure switch near the compressor (a cylindrical device piped into the refrigeration system with two wires a red button on the top). Push in the button to reset. Push the rocker switch to restart the unit.

Mower won’t start
ANSWER : This may sound stupid but don’t mean it to…
Have you tried with the choke all the way open? Do you have an automatic cruise? Is the right (correct) pedal being pushed in? These will affect if it starts or not. Also if your drive belt or one of the other belts not being tight enough will affect if it starts or just turns over. Not too many things can stope it from starting with new/good battery AND if its getting gas. Try cleaning your gas line and obviously making sure there is no obstruction around or near your blade, if it does start with blade engaged that is :))
If it doesn’t start with blade engaged, well make sure it’s in neutral. Mine won’t start in reverse but will in forward or neutral.

ANSWER : I am going to respond 2 times to this post. The first reply will be generic things to check.
First off check the oil level and make sure it is serviced to full.
If your having a lack of fuel (runing lean) you will need to check fuel flow at the carb fuel mainfold. It should fill a spray paint can lid in less than 10 seconds but teting flow rated of the main fuel line. If you have poor flow here… you need to check the fuel filter and the fuel tank outlet port for obstructions.

Good Fuel flow still shutting off…. remove the carb float bow and clean the debris from the bow’ and the treaded area where the fuel solenoid mounts Additionally you will have to again remove the main fuel line and spray carb cleaner in the float needle area to flush out any debris through the fuel hose connection.

For the second response I need to know which engine is installed on your mower by MODEL number if you can locate it. (there are 3 engines) At least try to find the engine model number. If you can not locate it Brand and HP of the engine (I assume 22 hp) Thanks for choosing FixYa,

Have a john deere sabre turn key won’t start thought battery was dead charged battery still won’t start jump start with car battery it will start then . try to engage reverse with blades running it shuts off. shut down tractor won’t start again .I,m thinking wiring not grounded but where or replacement switch somewhere.give best advise.
ANSWER : Some mowers have a mowing reverse safety switch. That safety will kill the mower if you try to reverse with the deck engaged. Some mowers even have an override button that has to be held while backing up. As for the battery thing, no matter how much you charge a bad battery you will not get it to start a mower if it has a bad cell or two. I would use a multimeter to check battery voltage, but the end result would still be the same, replace the battery.I hope this gets you going again.
