Your mower does not come with oil in the engine, but it does come with a bottle of oil. 1. Remove the dipstick (Figure 4).
fill: 0.53 L (18 oz), type: SAE 30 detergent oil with an API service classification of SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, or higher. 1. Move the machine to a level surface.
Overview. The Toro 38280 Premium 4-Cycle Lawn Mower Engine Oil 10W-30 is specially formulated to meet specific 4-cycle engine manufacturer requirements calling for 10W-30. This lawn mower engine oil provides the ultimate protection for all 4-cycle OPE engines.
Most gas lawn mowers will ship with a bottle of starter oil in the box. However, this bottle might shift beneath the mower during transit. Be careful not to throw it out! Once you`re ready to remove the mower from the box, have another person lift it with you to reduce the risk of strain, injury, or equipment damage.
This can be difficult, as engine oil is often out-of-sight, and therefore out-of-mind. But, Toro recommends that the oil be changed every 100 hours, or after the first 5 hours for brand-new Toro zero-turn mowers. Luckily, it is an easy process that anyone can learn how to do.
For easy starting and maximum engine protection in cold weather use Toro 5W-30 Winter Engine Oil. This 5W-30 grade oil is formulated with Hi- quality base oils. Recommended for use in Toro mowers with 4-Cycle engines.
Engines on most outdoor power equipment operate well with 5W30 Synthetic oil. For equipment operated in hot temperatures, Vanguard 15W50 Synthetic oil provides the best protection.
While automotive engine oil, such as 10W-30 or 10W-40, can be used in a lawn mower engine, it is generally recommended that SAE 30 motor oil be used.
Car oil is similar to lawn mower oil, and you can use it in lawn mowers with four-stroke engines. However, car oil has a high concentration of additives and can damage smaller engines. It`s also important to match base oils; otherwise, you risk damaging your lawn mower`s motor.
Features. This product does not have engine oil included in the box. 500ml of 4-stroke oil, SAE 10W-30 required for start up.
Lawn mowers that run on internal combustion engines burn gasoline as fuel, and like any engine with metal parts, your lawn mower requires oil to lubricate the pistons and other moving parts. The oil reduces friction between moving metal parts and protects the life of your engine.

Dont know what type of oil to use – Toro Power Lawn Mower
ANSWER : Put straight 30 weight motor oil in it. Not 10W30 or any multi-viscosity oil. Straight 30 weight motor oil. If you’re doing a complete oil change, then you may want to use Synthetic 30 weight, which will last longer between oil changes and also make your engine last longer (but it costs more too). Best of luck to you.James
