You may have a low voltage on your battery. These engines can require a good strong battery to startup. Put a charger on it for a while and then try to start it. Best is to have a charger that gives you the voltage of the battery. Also, check oil. When they sit for a while it can be low on oil. If this was the case it will tighten up once the motor gets warm and then be very difficult to start again. Hopefully no major damage if this is the case.
