To reset your oil light, simply pump your gas pedal down to the floor 3 times, pausing briefly between each pump. Depending on your car`s model and year, you might see a message on your dash telling you the light is reset.
Every time you get your car`s oil changed, it`s important to reset the oil change indicator light on your dashboard. If you don`t reset the indicator, you may find that your car will indicate that you need another oil change far sooner than it should.
If your oil light stays on even after changing your engine oil, you`re going to want to check the sensor first to rule out a malfunctioning sensor as the cause. Dirt and other particles can make their way into the oil pump, causing the sensor to falsely identify oil issues.
If the oil levels are too low, the lawn mower will not start and may need to be serviced or replaced. When the lawnmower`s oil level is low, it can cause damage to the engine. If your lawn mower does not have any oil in it, you should check it for leaks.
pull the start cord several times (you might see oil being discharged out the spark plug hole). Clean the spark plug (or replace it) & reinstall it, then reconnect the plug wire securely. Add new engine oil back into the mower, in increments, being careful not to overfill. Screw the fill cap back in place.
The best way to fix an overfilled lawn mower is to drain the engine oil from the oil tank, crankcase, and combustion chamber. Remove the air filter and spark plug and clean them to remove all traces of oil. Crank the engine several times with the spark plug removed to purge residual engine oil.
Put your key in the ignition and turn it to position one, the position just before starting the car. Push and hold the trip meter reset button on the dashboard, then turn your key to position two. Continue holding the odometer button for 10 seconds. The light should then flash, possibly beep, and then go out.

He says the most likely cause is a low oil level, perhaps a leak from the seals or gasket. There could also be a plugged filter. But, the light might be an alert of something more serious, such as worn bearings, crankshaft, or oil pump.
The symptoms that your lawn mower has low oil include making knocking and spluttering sounds while running, quickly becoming overheated, thick black smoke coming out of the mower, an engine that flat-out refuses to start, and damage to internal parts. These are the major signs you shouldn`t miss while your mower runs.

ANSWER : Put straight 30 weight motor oil in it. Not 10W30 or any multi-viscosity oil. Straight 30 weight motor oil. Lawn mower cranck but wont start…
ANSWER : Since you already checked for spark and air I would drain all the fuel out of it and check that fuel for water. Over time some lawn mowers end up with contaminated fuel. You can see the water sitting on the bottom of the fuel if you let it stand for a bit in a small plastic bowl.
Be sure to empty and dry out you fuel can as well. Especially if the mower stopped running right after a refuel. Which is a good sign your gas can is contaminated too.
