If all blades are rotating at the same time, there is no issue with the cutting deck belt that is connecting the blades. If one, or more, blades are not rotating, the cutting deck belt is worn out and needs to be replaced. This should be done by an authorised dealer.
If the PTO clutch is not getting power, if the clutch solenoid is defective, or if the clutch is worn out, the lawn mower blades will not engage. The PTO clutch is not repairable—if the clutch is defective, you must replace it.
A Husqvarna riding mower commonly dies when blades are engaged because the grass box is not fully closed. Other possible causes include: Grass Box Misaligned. Grass Box Sensor Wiring Loose.
If your blade has stopped turning, but your motor is still running, this usually means that your drive belt has perished and needs replacing.
A lawn mower blade can get stuck for several reasons, one of which includes over-tightening. Lawn mower blades are supposed to be loose enough to slip when they hit a solid object in order to protect the engine and the blade itself from damage. Lawn mower blades may also get stuck if the bolt is threaded the wrong way.
Worn or broken blade drive belt – If the riding mower blades are not spinning, the blade drive belt may be worn or broken and unable to engage the blades. If the belt is intact, inspect it to see if it`s loose or slipping on the pulleys then replace it with a new one if necessary.
A bypass lever is located on the back of the frame, pull out on the lever to move the mower and push it back in before mowing.
An improperly routed belt can cause the engine to die when the blades are engaged. To check belt routing, lower the deck to its lowest setting and remove the belt guard by the drive pulley. Next, lift the belt over the pulley and remove the pins that support the deck at the rear.
A full gas tank and oil reservoir are the essential first steps when checking why the lawn mower won`t stay running, but the problem could also be a dirty filter, clogged carburetor, improper fuel mixture, or a dirty spark plug.
There are 4 safety interlock switches on our lawn and garden tractors. The locations vary slightly between Step-Thru® and box frame tractors.
Deformed Blade
In some cases, the unnatural shape of the blade can be enough to prevent you from tightening it properly. A bent shape can also mess with the blade`s overall balance. An unbalanced mower blade can produce vibrations that will loosen the bolt over time.
Mowing your lawn with a sharp blade will create a clean, straight cut. Sharp blades actually improve the overall health of your lawn. For example, clean-cut grass from a sharp mower recovers from a cut quicker. This allows the grass to fight off any chance of disease.

ANSWER : I did the same thing. I replace the belt that turns the blades. The pressure of the impact had stretched the belt and was slipping on the pully that engages the blades. Try that first and check the other belts for tension, wear and condition….Also make sure all springs are attached, not stretched, and in good shape…Hope this is helpful….Joe
