How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
The fuel filter might be clogged. A clogged fuel filter is most commonly caused by leaving old fuel in the lawn mower. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the fuel filter and prevent the engine from starting.
The most likely cause of a no-start mower after running out of gas is dirt in the carburetor, but other possible causes include: Air locked gas system. Faulty carburetor. Contaminated gas.
If the plug is clean or you`ve replaced it and the mower still won`t start, the issue could be a lack of fuel. Either the carburetor is dirty and not able to mist the fuel to be mixed with incoming air, or no gas is getting to it to begin with.
Loose, Dirty or Disconnected Spark Plug in Your Lawn Mower: Check it out, clean off debris, re-connect and tighten. Dirty Air Filter: Clean or replace. Fuel Not Reaching the Engine: Tap the side of the carburetor to help the flow of gas. If this doesn`t work, you might need a new fuel filter.
A small pipe called a venturi runs alongside the gas nozzle. When the end of the venturi pipe becomes submerged with the rising gas, it chokes off the air pressure that holds the nozzle handle open and shuts down the gas flow.
If the car cranks when you turn the key, but the engine won`t start, it could be because fuel isn`t getting to the engine. One potential reason for this could be dirty fuel injectors. Over time, the fuel injector nozzles can become clogged with rust, corrosion or debris.

My cub cadet tank stops running 5-20 minuts after i start mowing but will run on full choke, have taken carb apart and cleaned well , bypassed fuel filter, cleaned air filter, checked plug , changed fuel but none have helped , could i need a carb kit ? ????
Yes you may need a carb kit. It is not good practice to by-pass the fuel filter. The orifice in the jet is very small. But anyways, There Could still be a blockage inside the carb, a small leak at the manifold, or the jet is worn out.Let me know how it goes.
My cub cadet won’t start just clicks ,i changed the fuse and tryed to jump start it no luck what do i do now?
Check your soleniod.
PTO will not engage on my 0 turn Cub Cadet RZT 50. What should I check and how do I check it?
See if the switch is getting power to it and if it is see if the clutch is getting power. it needs 12 volts in order to engage.
2160 cub cadet that wont start.hot spark to the plugs
You’ve solved for some of the equation. Spark. Fuel. Air…..all in the proper sequence. Now, what condition are the plugs ? I’d change them out if they have any wetness to them. Check your fuses as well. Another thing is the ‘safety switches’ – located in seat, on parking brake, etc. One of these could have come undone or gone bad/loose wire. I’m thinking the latter….
Cub cadet 1050 changed oil now its wants me to change oil again and it smokes really bad now to much oil or too little
The 1050 holds 57.5 oz slightly less than 2 qts 64 oz. the filler stick is marked. shiould be over the add mark not over the full mark

I had the same problem. there was a short in the relay just before the wire gets to to back pulley assembly.
Where is the fuse – Cub Cadet LTX 1042 KW 42" 18HP Kawasaki Lawn Tractor – 13WG93AS010
Behind the dash panel at top of dash there is only one fuse
I have a cub cadet 2165 I just put in a new battery and it is slow turning over any ideas?
If battery is good and everything is hooked up right. Most likely could be the pto clutch bearing. Not the bearing on the pulley but on the clutch inside. Had the same problem, took the spark plugs out got it free. Turned over easy with plugs out, Started right up after and then burned up my bearing. Don’t burn up bearing. If do field assy. For that is 200$ if you can get away with just that. Otherwise 350-400$ for full assy.
