Tractors these days are provided with a battery and starting motor to initiate the engine ignition process. Electric current from the battery is generated and it is used to run the starting motor which further helps in initial cranking and hence ignites the fuel in engine.
With the release pin pressed, pull the ignition switch straight out of its place beneath the steering wheel. It should come without any resistance, but it`s common for it to stick a bit in older vehicles that have accumulated a lot of dust and debris around the cylinder.

My dog tore out some wires on lt1000 17.5 hp ridng mower. inow have it wired so it will start and run,but have one wire i dont know where it goes. from the ignition switch the blue is hot the black im not sure. there is an orange wire that i assume keeps the battery charged just dont know where it goes. after mowing mower will not restart. is there a wiring diagram?
ANSWER : Orange wire goes on the A2 terminal on back ignition witch.

I need the wiring diagram for the solenoid/1999 16hp hydronamic Simplicity
ANSWER : The two big terminals are one fom the battery and the other to the starter.
The two smaller ones one comes from the ignition switch and the other might just be a ground.
Test becareful is hook the battery and starter wires up; take a wire and stick one on the battery terminal and tap each of the smaller terminals; when you get a click that will and should fire the stater; make sure it is out of gear or it will start. remember that terminal and hook the ignition key to it. check the other smaller terminal is or isn’t a ground one.

I need a wiring diagram for a 13.5 hp briggs and stratton motor. It is replacing a 12.5 hp B&S. There is a fuel solenoid on the new motor. I have purchased a Murray idnition switch which can handle a fuel solenoid but there is also no wiring instructions with it. Murray 421064MA Ignition Switch
