Sounds like you have dirt/debris in your carburetor jets or fuel passages.Be sure to check your fuel tank for water and dirt/debris, if there is water/debris then you need to clean your tank.Also check you fuel line condition after a while they will degrade and need replacment.Make sure you are getting spark at the spark plug, to do this:Remove your spark plug and check to be sure you are getting fire at the spark plug.You do this by grounding the plug on the head of the engine and pulling the crank rope, if you are getting spark then:Check/Clean/Replace your fuel filter if you have one, normally they are located in the fuel tank of weedeaters.Also make sure you are using fresh fuel…and oil mix if your using a two cycle mower or weedeater with the oil to the right mixture and not too much oil as it can cause hard starting.If the mower/weedeater is over a couple of years old, then I recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit,because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.Sounds like you will need to clean the carburetor or replace your carburetor internal rubber parts like the diaphgram and O rings.I recommend that you use a laquer thinner type cleaner to clean and dissolve the laquer build-up in the float and needle jet passages.Be sure to remove all plastic and rubber parts before using the laquer thinner because it can dissolve the plastic parts and render them unuseable.Be sure to use compressed air to blow out all the fuel and air passages.Be careful when blowing out the passages, because there are sometimes small rubber type seats in the bottom of some of the passages.Sometimes you can get by with priming the carburetor or using starting fluid and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets,but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.Keep in mind that the float for the carburetor must be level when you go to reassemble the carburetor or follow the instructions you get with the carburetor kit.When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, you will first need to lightly seat the jet screws.But before you lightly seat the jet screws count the number of turns it takes to seat the jet screws from their original position.Be sure to mark the turns down on a piece of paper.That way when you put the jets back in, you know to lightly seat them first and then turn them back out to their orginal position before you started.Once you have your carburetor rebuilt that should solve your problem.

When your trimmer starts and runs on choke, it could be because the check valve in the gas cap is clogged. Start the trimmer and gently unscrew the gas cap halfway off. Turn the choke off and assess. If the engine is still running, that means the gas cap may be the culprit.
A clogged carburetor is most commonly caused by leaving fuel in the string trimmer for a long period of time. Over time, some of the ingredients in the fuel may evaporate, leaving behind a thicker, stickier substance. This sticky fuel can clog up the carburetor and cause the engine to stall.

Runs slow at full throttle runs slower than mid-throttle. Won’t deliver full power.
In California the new blowers have sealed mixture adjustments and you need the have your carb. mixture adjusted be a qualified shop. If your carb. HAS mixture adj., turn the high speed mixture so it runs best at high speed, then turn another 1/8 turn counter clockwise to be a little rich. Then at idle adj. the other screw till it idles best.
Will only start and run in choked position, when throttle applied chokes out. If started with out choke and throttle position in low speed will start and run for 10 sec then like it runs out of gas.
I have your solution guaranteed, I fixed mine yesturday remove H L screw plastic caps and on high 11 threads exposed and on the low side 8 threads exposed. removing the plastic caps allows u further adjusting these wear out or move soo just take them things off and you will be rolling
The engine idles way too fast and will not correct with the sow speed adjustment
Make sure that you are adjusting the idle speed screw, not the idle jet screw (L). If you are adjusting the proper screw, then it is possible that the throttle trigger assembly in the handle has a load of sawdust/dirt that blocks proper return to idle. Take the handle apart carefully, and make notes on how the parts go back together. Check at the carburetor throttle assembly to make sure the throttle arm returns fully to the idle speed screw when the trigger is pulled and released slowly. Check the throttle spring as well to make sure it is undamaged. Hope this helps!
Idle goes up and down and the shuts off eventually
It sounds like the engine might be running too lean. You need to get someone to adjust the idle and high speed screws correctly.
Chainsaw runs fine than goes full throttle all by its self and cannot shut it off with switch.
Kill switch is broken or disconnected. Throttle linkage is broken or disconnected or idle is set way too high.
What causes your saw to run hot and not idle it wont run unless you hold the trigger and wnen you let off it dies i have new fuel ines on it have cleaned the carburator
I’m assuming you are using the correct fuel/oil mixture. Your carburetor could still be clogged or misadjusted. The symptoms you describe are those of an air cooled engine running too lean. Also you might want to check the exhaust port to make sure it isn’t clogged with carbon.

James is right about setting the idle mixture.
Do you want to set the idle speed?
That can be done with the screw that sits on top the carb and holds the throttle stop. Just work the throttle while looking at the end of the cable at the carb and you will see something stopping it at idle that has a screw in it. Move this screw in or out to adjust idle speed.
If you dont have good throttle response off idle you should adjust the hi speed mixture at wide open throttle and then go back and do the low speed changes. Mixture and then speed adjust.
When I start the motor it runs on high idle and the blade starts to spin without hitting the trigger… When I hit the trigger it sputters and turns off…
I don’t know if your saw has adjustable needles on the carb, but if it does, the “low” side needle needs to be turned counterclockwise about 1/8 to 1/4 turn. THis will richen up the idle mixture which will take care of the sputtering, and should also bring down the idle speed.
