Q: I have an echo cs-400 the document says chain gauge: 0.050″ pitch: 3/8; use 5/32″ file size.
What is the spark plug gap? The spark plug gap is, . 024-.
325″ pitch chain. The file size is 4.8mm x 200mm.
Turning the adjusters clockwise will tighten the chain, and counterclockwise will loosen it. By turning the adjusters, you`re moving the whole wheel up and down the swingarm, so moving them gradually and equally on both sides of the bike is essential.
The distance between the tip of the spark plug and the central electrode is called the “spark plug gap” and is a key factor in the function of a spark plug. Spark plug gaps for car engines are typically 0.6 to 1.8 mm (0.024 to 0.071 in).
Importance of the Spark Plug Gap
The gap is the distance between the center and side electrodes, set so arcing occurs at the proper voltage that ignites the fuel and generates the combustion that makes the engine run.
Your Echo chainsaw is a two-stroke engine that takes a mixture of unleaded gasoline and two-stroke motor oil at a ration of 50 to 1. This mixture equates to one gallon of gasoline to 2.6 ounces of the two-stroke motor oil.
Simply put, the type of chainsaw file you need directly corresponds with the size of your chain pitch. The larger the pitch will mean the higher the cutting teeth will be. The higher the teeth will therefore mean the larger the file will need to be.
Chainsaw chains are sharpened with special files. While some professional loggers use square files like the ones to sharpen knives, almost all other chainsaw owners use round files for sharpening. There are three common sizes of chainsaw files: 5/32, 3/16 and 7/32. Select the correct size for your chain.

Ich side of the wt820 carb is the inlet side the single screw side or the small 4 screw side?
No Primer bowl or Idle adjust screw side is input
Which fuel line “port/inlet” on the Walbro wt-380 goes to the fuel tank? It’s on a Craftsman 25cc Gas “Weed Wacker” Line Trimmer purchased in 2002. It has Walbro WT-380 carburetor with external primer bulb. The carb has two inlets for attaching fuel lines – one to gas tank, one to primer bulb. One inlet is on diaphragm side of carb (side with the two Low/High speed adjustment screws). Other inlet is on “reservoir?” side (side with air/fuel mixture screw). Which inlet gets the “fuel tank line”? (Other will obviously go to primer bulb. I found all kinds of diagrams on web but none that showed this. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. (Problem occurs when replacing gas lines and forget which line goes where:)
Usually the line with the filter on it that comes from the tank goes to carb. inlet first which is most likely close to the bottom side of the carb.nearest to the engine, then the outlet or return line on the carb.goes to the inlet side of the primer and the outlet side of the primer goes back to the tank. The primer draws fuel through the carb to the primer to the tank if its not? then correct the line connections until it does
Carb screws need adjusted i need to know the settings
Hi. Lightly seat the low screw and bring it out one and a quarter turns. Lightly seat the high and bring it out one turn. Adjust idle screw to suit. Regards Phil.
Have a craftsman 16″ chain saw 358.360260. Could not initially get it started after it had sat for a couple years with fuel stabilizer in it. When I went to use it the fuel had all evaporated and the fuel pick line was rotted. I replaced that with some difficulty but finally got it on. Saw still wouldn’t start. Replaced the fuel filter. Still wouldn’t start. Pulled the carb apart and cleaned and recleaned everything. Diaphragms were good and I didn’t adjust any of the mixture screws because as I said it ran fine before storage. Non of the carb passages were clogged. Fresh gas 40:1, good spark plug and good spark. Airfilter is good. Engine has maybe about 4 hours of total run time on it. It’s a ZAMA (?) carb. It will run for about 30 seconds when I manually prime it by pouring a small amount of fuel directly though the carb. When I was disassembling the carb the vent hose that goes back into the fuel tank seemed to have a small out of ?substance? in it which I cleaned out. It was right at the end the of the hose that goes back into the fuel tank and not up by the carb. It didn’t appear to be like your typical gummy deposits/varnish though. I hope it wasn?t some type of spongy check valve stuff that is supposed to be in there. That might explain some of my problems. Anyway, I also can not seem to get the primer bulb to fill. When I open the fuel tank, look in side and depress the primer bulb, air bubbles come out of the fuel filter. But when I let the bulb reexpand there’s no fuel that gets sucked up the hose. I can however seem to fill the primer bulb when the fuel tank is full and the chainsaw is laying on it?s pull cord side and the bulb is depressed a bunch of times. The saw will also start and run again for about 15 seconds then die. It’s definitely not getting/fuel and probably running out . Thanks.

How to ajust carb on homeliteweedeater – Homelite Consumer Products 4.0 Amp, 13 In. Trimmer
There are plastic caps on the adjustment screws they are there so you can’t adjust them but if the fell off you can
Need to know what carb screw adjustment need to be set at weedeater starts for about 4-7 sec then shuts down put new hoses on checked gas filter and cap checked out ok. i pump the ball about 10 times ,pull cord &starts for about 4-7 sec then shuts down, like no gas or electrical problem. i played with the screw settings & dont know where they shoould be set at . had carb all apart ,put in new plug doesnt seem to matter what i do it does the same thing . any thoughts?also when it starts the motor will rev up when u hit the gas and when it shuts down the gas hose from the tank is still full of gas
If there is a choke adjustment you should set that at full until the trimmer warms up, don’t touch the gas. Then repull start at half choke, don’t touch the gas either at this time. Then start at no choke, and then set your idle on the carberator with the adjustment screw. Also don’t push the primer bulb so many time you will cause the spark plug to get flooded and drown out the spark, which is exactly what is happening.
