Hi,
Round up will work on any grass…I prefer to mix it a bit stronger when I know I am trying to kill grass… but yes it works… ask my daughter who wanted to help and spray the weeds for me and then decides to play around in the yard writing her name….:-)
It can take a week for a full killl though…

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?
We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :
Though the plants absorb the herbicide rapidly, do not disturb for 7 days. It may take up to 7 days after the application for the grass to completely absorb the material and for symptoms to show. Depending on temperature, it can take up to 2 weeks for the entire lawn to die.
Roundup (glyphosate) moves systemically throughout the plant and kills the tops and the roots; one application can often be quite successful. Fall is the best time to try to kill bermudagrass with Roundup because active growth is slowing down.
Most RoundupĀ® Weed & Grass Killer products deliver visible results in a few hours, though some take a little bit longer. For RoundupĀ® Max Control 365, it takes 12 hours to see visible results, but the trade-off is year-long hassle-free weed control.
ANSWER: You may do either, but it`s usually best to spray the whole lawn for most effective control. You may not see small weeds, and they will eventually grow larger and cause problems later. Spray during mild weather when highs are in the 60s/70s and lows are in the 40s/50s.
You don`t need to worry about the roots in this case because glyphosate in Roundup kills the roots for good. After trimming the grass blades off using a trimmer, you can rest easy knowing that it will not grow again.
It can persist in soil for up to 6 months depending on the climate and the type of soil it is in. Glyphosate is broken down by bacteria in the soil. Glyphosate is not likely to get into groundwater because it binds tightly to soil. In one study, half the glyphosate in dead leaves broke down in 8 or 9 days.
The top herbicide we recommend is Ornamec 170 Herbicide. This is a selective herbicide which means it will only target the Bermudagrass you want gone and will not do any damage to your desired grasses.
Glyphosate is registered for weed control at 1 pint/acre on dormant bermudagrass. Application of glyphosate in winter is highly efficacious if applied during warm winter days (great than 60 degrees).

Does preem kill grassas growing out of ponds – Roundup "" Weed & Grass Killer
ANSWER : I would not use Preen in your pond. Preen is a pre-emergent and needs to tie up in the top 2″ of your soil. It does not kill existing grasses and weeds, only the germinating seed as the meristem evolves. Use a product specifically designed for aquatic use.

Roundup superconceterte mixing – Roundup "" Weed & Grass Killer
ANSWER : I assume you are talking mixing ratios. In most cases a 1% roundup to water mixture will kill many plants. On very stubborn species you can go to a 2% concentrate but anything above that in my opinion you’re just wasting your money. More isn’t always better when it comes to weed killers.
