How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

Your chainsaw will need an unleaded, mid-grade gasoline with an octane rating of at least 89. This is one of the few times you`ll want to spend the money for premium gas. Unlike other small engines, most chainsaws us a high-performance engine. If the octane rating is not at 89, you risk knocking your engine.
The (clear) main fuel line with the filter (filter inside the fuel tank) goes to the bottom of the carburetor (or the elbow shaped nipple). The (clear) fuel intake line runs from the top of the carburetor (straight nipple) and goes to the short post on the back of the primer bulb.
Most vehicles have rubber fuel hoses connecting the fuel pipes on the chassis to the fuel pump or carburetor on the engine. Rubber hoses are flexible and can be cut to length as required, but they have a tendency to perish over time and can rub through if not properly secured.
The fuel and oil mixture should always be 2% (50:1).
Most modern chainsaws, string trimmers, leaf blowers and other small-engine two-stroke equipment recommend a 50:1 oil mix ratio, but some recommend 40:1 and older two-stroke equipment might even call for 32:1.
STIHL currently recommends that you do not store or use fuel older than 60 days, and preferably no longer than 30 days, even with a stabilizer. Read more about storing your outdoor power equipment.
The (clear) fuel intake line runs from the top of the carburetor (straight nipple) and goes to the short post on the back of the primer bulb. The return line (blue) comes from the long post on the back of the primer bulb and goes into the bottom of the fuel tank.
A typical fuel system
A single fuel pipe runs from the tank, under the floor of the car to a mechanical pump on the engine. The pump delivers fuel to the carburettor. Whenever you check fuel pipes, disconnect the battery to prevent stray sparks igniting petrol or petrol vapour.
The return line should direct fuel close to the bottom of the tank and away from the pickup.

Where can I get a fuel line routing diagram? – Husqvarna 28cc Hand Held Blower HVH 125B
Just go from the fuel tank straight to the carb and the primer. The pipes are a set length so you don’t have to worry about threading it all around the blower.. just take the most direct route from the tank to the carb..!
Need diagram for fuel line in tank fuel filter
The small diameter fuel line that has the fuel filter in the tank on it goes directly to the carburetor (with the built-in primer or externally mounted primer). IF the carb has the external primer, the small line goes to the nipple on the carburetor opposite the end with the hole in the cover. If it has the built-in primer on it, it goes to the carb body on the nipple furthest from the bulb. The large diameter line is the fuel return line and if the carb has the bulb on it, this line connects on the nipple closest to primer bulb.. With the externally mounted primer, this line connects on the longest nipple coming out of the primer and goes to the fuel tank (not the filter though). There is a nylon connector inside the tank that holds this larger line in place. The shorter nipple on primer bulb has a smaller diameter fuel line connected to it and connects to the nipple on the carb closest to the end with the hole in the cover. Built in primer has 2 fuel lines…externally mounted has 3.
Replaceing fuel line in polan 3300 chain saw – Poulan Pro 42CC 2 Cycle Chainsaw, 18"
Use a piece of wire and insert it into the fuel line, then bend a hook in the end and hook it over the end of the fuel line…lubricate the fuel line with some vaseoline very lightly…about the first one inch of the fuel line and then use your fingers to start the fuel line into the tank, once you have the fuel line in the tank give enough to hook the fuel filter to and so it can be dropped back into the tank.
Below is a drawing of how to route the fuel lines.

The saw starts up fine, runs fine but not for long. it runs for about 1 minute and dies. like it is out of fuel or sucking air, i noticed there is no filter on the suction line and there is another nipple entering the fuel tank which appears to need a hose on it , is this just a return line, or should the long line in side the tank press on to this nipple? thanks,
I’ve had my pp4218 for about 2 years and the fuel lines have rotted. I’m thinging from ethanol in the gas. However, I’m replacing them and cannot tell which lines go where. Does the large line from the bubble go to the filter and the little line return?
