You provide no model number so my answer is limited. Use “Bar and Chain” oil available at most home centers and hardware stores.

You can likely find an OM for your saw here: If the entire model does not work try just the numbers then choose from the list provided.

How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Chainsaws from McCulloch are self-lubricating. Use only Universal powered by McCulloch bar and chain oil. This oil has been specially developed to retain its viscosity at the extreme temperatures generated by the chain and bar.
Turn the McCulloch chainsaw upside down, and locate the serial number plate, which is a metal plate on the bottom of the chainsaw. Scan the plate for the word “Model” followed by a series of letters and numbers; the letters and numbers are the model of the chainsaw.
McCulloch recommends “Universal powered by McCulloch two-stroke oil”. The petrol/oil ratio must be 50:1.
1.4 kW two-stroke engine, easy to start thanks to the primer pump. Weight: 4.6 Kg.
What type of oil do electric chainsaws need? Electric chainsaws use the same type of bar and chain oil which gas chainsaws use. Using a great quality bar and chain oil will keep the friction low and properly lubricate all the moving parts. The best oil which we`ve found is the bar and chain oil by Husqvarna.
The easiest way to tell a 2-cycle engine from a 4-cycle engine is the number of fuel tank and/or oil sump fill ports. A 2-cycle engine has one fill port with a cap that has fuel pump and oil can icon. The cap will usually state the oil to fuel mix ratio.
The fuel and oil mixture should always be 2% (50:1).
Today, McCulloch offers a complete line of garden products: powerful chainsaws, sturdy trimmers, lawnmowers, garden tractors and hedge trimmers.
Tips for properly mixing fuel for a chainsaw:

Always mix the petrol and oil in a clean container intended for fuel. Always start by filling with half of the petrol to be used, then add all of the oil, mix (agitate) the fuel mixture and add the remaining petrol. Do not mix more than one month`s supply of fuel at a time.

Because combustion takes place with each revolution of the crankshaft with a 2-stroke, this format puts out more power than a 4-stroke engine and the power has more instantaneous delivery. This are some reasons why 2-stroke engines have a long history of use on many different types of motorcycles.
Four-stroke engines yield higher levels of torque at a lower RPM during operation. A four-stroke engine only consumes fuel once every four strokes, making it a more fuel-efficient engine option. Four-stroke engines give off less pollution because they do not require oil or lubricant mixed in the fuel.
Oregon Bar And Chain Oil is one of the best-selling bar oils. It is made with additives for increased tackiness compared to other brands and high-film strength to prevent corrosion and wear on the saw chain, bar, and sprockets. Plus this oil reduces buildup of tree sap, gum, and resins on saw parts.
Most STIHL gasoline-powered equipment runs on a 50:1 mixture of gasoline and 2-cycle engine oil.
The hydraulic oil is designed to lubricate hydraulic systems and is not designed to be used with chainsaws. It may cause damage to the moving parts of the chainsaw and may also cause the saw to malfunction.
Husqvarna two stroke engines are designed to run on clean, fresh, unleaded petrol. A fuel / oil ratio of 50:1 is recommended for all Husqvarna 2-stroke products. Also consider; 50:1 (2%) fuel / oil mix ratio is recommended with the use of genuine Husqvarna two-stroke oil for best performance.
The hydraulic oil is designed to lubricate hydraulic systems and is not designed to be used with chainsaws. It may cause damage to the moving parts of the chainsaw and may also cause the saw to malfunction.

Dont know what type off oil to put in the bar and chain tank on the chainsaw
ANSWER : Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

All Bar oils are SAE 30W non-detergent oil. Go down to the local auto parts supply and buy the cheapest SAE 30W you can find…. SAE 30W is SAE 30W regardless of what brand is on it and for bar oil it is not an issue.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

16″ Electric Chain Saw: what kind of oil is used for electric chain saw…
ANSWER : I assume you are asking about the oil for the chain. Any good quality “Bar and Chain Oil” will do fine. Do not use motor oil you use in your car engine as it will not properly lube the chain and will result in quicker dulling and early demise of the chain.

You can get the “Bar and Chain Oil” at most hardware stores or Farm Supply stores.

Need a chain for 14in electric poulan chain saw the normal 14 in chain does not list the electric saw as one it will fit
ANSWER : Hello Jennifer;
The number of drive links, pitch and gauge of the chain need to be determined to answer your question. If you take your saw or just the chain to a local chain saw outlet a new chain can be fabricated in a very few minutes. This will save shipping and handling fees as well. While there get the numbers mentioned above. Once you have these you can likely find a low kickback chain in a local home center the next time the chain needs replacement.
