The first thing to do is to ensure that the battery is fully charged. If after charging the battery you are still experiencing the problem, then it may indicate a fault with either the battery or charger. The defective item will need to be replaced.
As they are powered by a battery, they give you the freedom to trim your hedges no matter how far away from home you are, and without the hassle of having a cord dragging around. Most modern batteries last between 20 and 40 minutes before needing a re-charge.
Clippers with Ni-Mh or Ni-Cd batteries will run for about one hour. Newer trimmers, on the other hand, when fully charged, will run between 20 to 40 minutes. To maximize the life of your trimmer battery, about every two months, run the trimmer completely down , and fully recharge overnight.
Allow at least 3 hours of charge time before initial use of the hedge trimmer. Charge the battery pack only with the charger provided. The battery should be charged in a cool dry place. It will take 2 to 3 charging/discharging cycles before the battery achieves maximum run time capacity.
The most common problem with a string trimmer is that the unit runs out of string. The string may also be twisted or loose on the spool. The cutting head may be dirty or the head outlet guide may be bent. An electric trimmer`s power cord, switch, or motor may fail.
Trimmers Stopped working
If your trimmer won`t turn on, especially if it has not been used recently, you may simply have a drained battery. Plug your trimmer into your charger and see if anything happens. Ideally your trimmer will recognize it has been connected to a power source and charge its battery.
A: Lithium ion batteries are stressed by overcharging, so it is best not to leave them on the charger for extended periods of time.
The charging indicator on your device will start flashing to indicate that the groomer is charging. Once the groomer is fully charged, the charging indicator lights up continuously for approximately 30 minutes and then automatically turns off to save energy.

Blades wont move when power connected. Stripped it down. Motor is fine. I think it must be the gears attached to the blade unit
ANSWER : Either the gears, OR SOME machines have a “CENTRIFUGAL CLUTCH” [a safety feature] between the engine and the blades.
