How to Identify and Fix Common Gardening Problems ?

We provide a variety of viewpoints on how to identify and fix common gardening problems. Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced gardeners :

Hold Open Nut Adjustments

To adjust the hold open nut, loosen the nut and then open the door to the desired hold open position. This is where you will tighten the hold open nut securely. Some styles of hold open arm will require slightly different adjustments.

An improper door lock and strike installation can cause the door to not fully close properly. Similarly, a tweaked door or frame can cause excessive rubbing at the top or bottom of the door frame, causing the door to not fully close.
Alternative To Automatic Door Openers

By installing a hold open door closer, the door can be held open, so that pedestrians with boxes, bags, or other items can pass through.

Closers should be mounted on the interior side of exterior doors, and for interior doors the closer should be mounted on the side of the door that is least exposed to public view. A parallel arm closer is mounted on the push side of the door, and the arm is parallel to the frame when the door is closed.
Another reason the door closer might make the door hard to open is that it is installed incorrectly. For example, if the arm were attached to the spindle in the wrong position, or if the closer was installed in the wrong location, it might make the door hard to open.
Not only can the door closer itself break, it can cause misaligned hinges, warped doors, shattered glass, slamming doors, and actual door and frame damage.
There are three different types of door closers: Regular Arm, Parallel Arm and Top Jamb Mount. Each of these function in a similar way, but they are installed on different sides of the door. The amount of ceiling clearance needed varies depending on the door closer.
Changing Your Mind

This is possible by modifying the position of the hinges and strike plate on the door jamb. You will then obviously need to replace the hardware on the door. at carpentry skills, it may be a wiser decision to ask an expert to do it or order a new door which swings the right way.

A latch mechanism is the cylinder that is driven through the edge of the door. This is often also called a tubular latch mechanism. The mechanism has a spring loaded latch that retracts to open the door and upon release of the door knob or lever, protrudes to keep the door closed.
DOOR HINGE ISSUES

One of the common reasons for closing door problems is the hinge. The screws that hold the hinge in place start to work loose and cause the door to sag or become tight. It results in the door not meeting the latch-side strike plate or scraping the door.

Cam action and Rack and Pinion are two types of mechanisms used in door closers. Rack and pinion is the most widely used mechanism normally used with a jointed arm.
If the problem is a damaged arm or adjusting screw which can be repaired, then do that. If the door closer does not respond to therapy (the appropriate adjustments), it is likely internally damage and needs to be replaced.
Left Handed or Right Handed Door

Method #1 – When standing on the outside of the door, you want to look at the hinges. If the hinges are on the left-hand side of the door, you need a left-handed door set. If they are on the right-hand side of the door, you need a right-handed door set.

Automatic. An automatic door closer, more often called a “door opener“, opens the door itself, typically under the control of a push button, motion detector or other device, and then closes it as well, employing a motion or proximity detector to determine when it is safe to close the door.
There are two major types of door installations: prehung doors and slab doors.
A door closer will ensure that the door returns to the closed position after opening, allowing the locking element to engage and secure the door. Doors using maglocks, electric strikes, or electric locks would all require a controlled door closing device to be fitted to provide secure closing.
Many pot closers have two orifice holes in different positions. The first larger hole would permit faster movement (sweep speed). The second smaller hole, closer to the end of the travel, was designed to restrict fluid movement and slow the door during final closing (latch speed).
Saloon Door Hinges allow a door to swing in both directions and automatically return the door to the center position. Saloon door hinges will allow the doors to close automatically close after walking thru the door. Saloon door hinges have an anatomy that`s unlike that any other kind of door hinge you might find!
By design, most home doors open inwards for an array of reasons with home security being at the top of the list. When a door opens inward, the hinges are located inside of the home, making them very difficult for intruders to disassemble or tamper with.
To make your door swing in the opposite direction, you need to attach the hinges to the opposite jamb. This means making new mortises for the hinges and covering or painting over the old ones. You must also drill a hole and mortise an inset for the strike on the opposite jamb and cover up the old one.
Main door Vastu direction

A door in the south or south-west, can be corrected by using a lead metal pyramid and lead helix. A door in the north-west can be corrected, with a brass pyramid and a brass helix, while a door in the south-east direction can be corrected, by using a copper helix.

The past tense of shut is shut, but the past tense of close is closed. Don`t confuse the adjective closed with the past tense, closed: When someone shuts / closes a door, it becomes a closed door. In bad weather we don`t shut airports or roads, we close them.
Most commonly, this occurs because of worn-out weatherstripping or because your door is not closing flush against the frame. Most of the time, replacing or adding new weatherstripping will prevent air from entering or escaping. If it does not, you will have to consider replacing the entire door.

ANSWER : Are you sure you are adjusting the limit controls and not the force controls.. depending on the age of the opener the limits controls are on the side and the force controls are on the back and they are blue. If you are adjusting the limits and nothing is changing you then either have a bad limit rack or circuit board. I just changed out a rack a little bit ago.
